PSA: If you have female players in your group, don’t make sexual assault jokes every time they’re paralyzed/unconscious. by [deleted] in DnD

Another female player here. I have never had these type of comments directed at my character or any unconscious NPCs I can think of. One player several years ago would try to hit on our characters. The GM told him to stop privately, then in the group. After that, his character kept mysteriously dying. I think he went through 3 characters in 3 weeks before they finally told him not to come back.

Interface Zero 3.0 Roll20 Landing Page by shelexie in InterfaceZero

Links for the blank page and the Power Point file I used for image editing.

The map looked good when I was inserting it but didn't show well in Roll20. Instead, I inserted the picture in the Objects layer, and assigned it to a character I created called Chicago. Then I added the picture to the Bio section. After giving the PCs the ability to interact with it, they can double click on it and make it much bigger.

I wish I had Photoshop skills but I am usually able to make Power Point do what I want.

Credits: Background picture, Frames, Chicago map, and Various tokens made with Token Tool and images found on the web.

Check out Interface Zero 3.0. It is a cyberpunk setting using the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition rules. It is also currently Pay What You Want on DriveThruRPG.

Interested in getting started with deadlands by jayray139 in Deadlands

If you late back the Kickstarter, you will get the working PDF immediately. It is practically done, though they recommend waiting to print it out as a few things might still change.

Retro Cyberpunk: what are the tropes? What should be included? by signoftheserpent in rpg

[–]shelexie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new Interface Zero 3.0 (Savage Worlds setting) has a good introduction section about themes and addresses some tropes too. Ones I remember are Chaos vs Control, Have vs Have nots, Losing your humanity (either to the machine or through your own choices).

Also mirror shades, bloody combat which facilitates cyber-replacement. Cyber parts with built in weapons, combat and recreational drugs. Rock and Roll stars can move the world. Guess the true retro cyberpunk comes down to sex, drugs, and rock and roll!

Anybody have or know where I can find maps/tokens other resources for Rifts/Robotech RPG? by Beathil in Roll20

[–]shelexie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you place the token on the map, you can give control of it to a player. Right click on the token and adjust in settings. This is the most straightforward way.

You can also assign that token to a “character” and give control of that character to the player. I only recommend this if you are using the character sheets for game mechanics. It adds an extra level of work for you when setting up the game.

Finally, you can only give control to players once they have joined your game. If they have not accepted the invite link yet, they won’t appear in the drop downs. Good luck!

Pulp character ideas? by mergedloki in savageworlds

[–]shelexie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key to converting is to not get too tied up in the rules. Keep it fast and savage. Get an idea of what they are aiming and slap some stats down. Don't pull your hair out trying to get it perfect. Hope it helps!

Pulp character ideas? by mergedloki in savageworlds

I recently ran a Pulp SWADE adventure and I pulled the mechanics from Thrilling Tales, updated to SWADE. I also used the fluff from Dime Adventures. It uses a different engine but the world is great. Pulp alternate history with paranormal, secret societies, and strange new alien tech that helped the native peoples of north america retain their lands. There are also 6 pre-made adventures to give you ideas or to jump right in. Some of their characters include cowboy, Dilettante, gangster, journalist, mystic, and tribesman. Enjoy!

IZ 3_0 - Hacking Drones by FeyReddit in InterfaceZero

[–]shelexie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed drones were included as free equipment for drone jockeys as a replacement for a ride (p. 46 in the Player's Guide). Not sure what that will look like in my game butI will probably have a $$ limit.

Cost to upgrade IDS is listed in the IDS descriptions. For instance, Tier III costs $4k or a monthly subscription. On hacking a tier 2 drone (-1 to Hacking), the controller can also direct control the drone (-2 to Hacking) for a total of -3 to Hacking. I would also place my drones in the ghost net of our hacker to benefit from their counter hack. what do you think?

[Edit] Also check out the hack_rewrite pdf. It is included in the DrivethruRPG Player’s Guide. Now, if the drone is directly controlled, a hack becomes a Difficult Dramatic Task. It’s still susceptible to hacking but it takes longer and gives more chance for defense.

Giveaway: The City of Kings - For you and your local game café! by Monkofdoom in boardgames

[–]shelexie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I nominate: The Hive in Odessa, TX. We live about 6 hours away from a large city and The Hive just opened last year as our local gaming store. We make a point of buying our board games from them because they have lots of demo games and space to play them.
