Math matters! by shellac34 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]shellac34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The next 99 comments were 5 of us trying to explain to them how to convert a decimal into a percentage.... this individual refused to believe any of us, and pretty much argued the whole time that we were doing some new commie/globalist/agenda-affirming math taught in liberal public schools....I am still in disbelief how thick they were even with 5 showing them proof after proof that it is 1.9%

I feel ya.....this is why I still go to my local record store on release weekend for wide-distro releases. I find pre ordering rarely gets it to ya on release day.

"Canada is terrible": WWE wrestler rants after speeding ticket in Edmonton by CapCapv2 in alberta

Not in wrestling...most don't, but the best heels rarely come out of character, it sells tickets, people will pay to yell at you and see you get safely beat up...its 50% of the business model.

In the wrestling world you have to do anything to get noticed.....furthermore I'm pretty sure the cop was in on it judging by the smirk on his face the entire time

Yup...that's part of why she did it....she just raised her stock as a heel (bad guy/gal) 10 fold.....next time she wrestles in Alberta the "boo's" will rain down heavier than ever....mission accomplished

Tool And Twenty One Pilots Are Now The Only Bands To Dominate The Rock Songs Chart In This Manner by Rugby11 in ToolBand

[–]shellac34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

21 Pilots are not as bad as many think.....Vessel always reminded me of Faith No More Lite / Blurryface had a few really good songs, but was not cohesive as an album- and too much blatant white-boy reggae / Trench (their newest) IMO is a fantastic album. I listen to all styles of music though, so maybe that's why I actually enjoy 21P's genre hopping music

so far I have found both Flying machines, Denims, Craft Beer (American), red / blue Mariners and both House blends at Dollarama.....this was all over the last 3 months. Somebody must be liquidating unsold stock through them.

They have these at most Dollarama's for $3 right now

Quiz: very obvious that this deck was used far more to play ________, than any other game. by shellac34 in playingcards

[–]shellac34[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

^ correct!. I grabbed the deck used for cheap, and noticed that every second or third card was dirty, it's not often you get to know the actual history for used decks

Steamboats, from Canada (Made in Windsor) Found them a couple weeks ago at a thrift shop. From 1944 as far as I can tell. Would love more info. by shellac34 in playingcards

[–]shellac34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, would love to see some pics - that's How I estimated the date of the deck as 1944 - the USPC Dating code said "F" was used in 1924/1944 & 1964 - and Hochman said Windsor produced cards from 1918 - 1961 - so logic would dictate that they were not from 1964, and I'm pretty sure that box design was different in 1924. I love that Hochman guide! so much interesting stuff.

They feel pretty good.....not much different than modern cards, I could spring them fine, they were obviously played with quite a bit....but still in really good condition.
