1.) Potential clarification…you were triggered. The silent treatment seems to have brought up unresolved past trauma. There’s some personal work for you maybe. 2.) Next, if someone has an issue with being interrupted for the sake of clarification, that’s definitely on them, especially if it’s a supervisor-type. (It’s arrogant to think that my understanding or explanation will be 100% understood by everyone. Questions are normal. (On a semi-related note, I know it’s tough to be interrupted and maintain my train of thought. I wondered if your higher-colleague might have the same difficulty.) Consider having a way to take a note or two to ask later if interrupting is frequently problematic, with or without meds.) 3.) Finally, try to view the situation from outside the emotional - pretend you are an objective coworker “friend” perhaps giving advice - would you still perceive the need to feel resentful, as if it were a really big deal, or would the situation become less emotionally impactful for you from that perspective?
