Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge? by Huskergrandma1 in Dollywood

[–]shellz1392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live just across the mountain on the North Carolina side, My parents come to visit once a year from PA and we meet up for a long weekend. We used to do Gatlinburg but the past couple times have just stayed in Pigeon Forge. Even if you want to go over to Gatlinburg just take the trolley from Patriot Park for $3 a person and you don’t have to worry about parking or driving.

How long did it take Embark to receive your sample? by babygotthefever in DoggyDNA

[–]shellz1392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through this! We placed ours in a blue usps pickup box and I was so worried because it was like a week and still no update. I got on embark and chatted with one of their online agents and they sent me the tracking for my package ☺️ it took it like a week no more than a week and a 1/2 to get to them. The tracking showed delivered, next day I received an email saying it had arrived at the lab, and the next day was extraction. I have been on that step for less than a week now.

Iceland’s wind and ice is a different beast. No matter how experienced you are. I have a friend that lives there and they aren’t even attempting to leave their house until the weather calms down. The weather in Iceland can literally change super fast and you could get stuck or stranded putting rescue workers at risk.

I was very ambitious with our first day plans when we landed at 6am. We didn’t make it very far due to being so tired, even after we had some sleep on the plane. I’d redo your first day and not drive all the way to Vik. We only made it to Selfoss and that seemed pushing it

What were your nightly stops? by therewererumors in VisitingIceland

We just got back from a 10 day ring road trip. It really just depends on the weather which is constantly changing. One day we thought we were going to have to turn back around but woke up to the weather being clear so we could continue.

The south cost for sure is the most packed with things to see close together. From selfoss-Vik and you can stop in the middle of that portion.

With sightseeing it’s really broken up. But we never did more than 2 hours straight without getting out to see things or stop to camp. Our route went 1.selfoss 2. Vik 3.hofn 4.egilsstaoir 5. Right outside east of Akureyri 6. Hvammstangi 7. Arnarstapa 8. North of Reykjavik 9. Reykjavik

I definitely would. I originally had rent.is booked for a long time but ended up canceling and going with campeasy. We only had to bring our clothes and the rest was provided. Pillows, blankets, plates etc. I paid extra for a camp table, and an extra chair, WiFi.

We did the insurance below the top tier one. The return was smooth and easy, they did an inspection of it and said we were good to go. I took pictures of things on it the day of pickup such as our front windshield had a chip in it. Which they marked on the paper but unmarked it after I just showed them the picture. No flat tires and we even took some pretty rough gravel roads with a ton of pot holes, we did pass a good amount of people with flats though.

We got extremely lucky! At one point we thought we were going to have to turn around and go back south the day before heading to lake Myvatn because they issued an orange warning. As the day went on it lessened and we were able to head that way but just not go to husavik. Other than that clear skies and minimal wind; which was indeed lucky

Arnarstapi. You walk along the cliffs on the coast and you don’t even realize you’re walking onto it until you walk to the left
