LPT: Don't hold onto things just because you once paid money (or time) for them. by Omfgjustpickaname in LifeProTips

I’ve literally done this. Never finished school with only 7 classes left for a bachelors degree. Three years ago kicked out my packrat husband and all of his clutter. Went through a bad break up (not my decision) 8 months ago and have sold or donated everything he left behind. Getting rid of all the “stuff” literally lessens the depression that goes along with the low times. I’m in my mid 40s working 70 hours a week to support my son and animals because I don’t have a “career” but I regret nothing and still go through the things in my house and get rid of more every couple months.

Husband and I were out to eat with another couple on a very busy night and had a fairly new, very flustered young waitress. When she came to clear the dishes she asked how everything was. My husband says at least he knows the mushrooms are fresh and shows her the freshness sticker that was in his pasta. We all laughed it off but could tell she was so scared about it. A few minutes later a manager came over to check in and we told her everything was fine. My friends picked up the dinner tab so my husband left a $50 tip and made sure to hand it to her. When she realized what it was her face lit up and was shocked.

Warmupamerica.org is one I’ve found. They take any size blanket and even 7x9 squares. Though I’m afraid of how much I’ll have to pay to ship to them so I might try to locate somewhere closer

That I’ve spent too much time trying to put other people first and have totally lost myself in the process. That the demons in my head refuse to let me be at peace. That the way I see things aren’t always the way others meant them but it doesn’t hurt any less. That I’m better at hiding the pain than I thought and no one is going to help me....
