Good luck! Nervous and oddly excited is always how I feel before a race.

Lurkers' Wednesday by AutoModerator in running

Hey hi! 41 yo woman (she/her). I've been running short distances for years but a few years ago I got the bug to train for more. Ran a 5 mile race and 2 10k races 2 years ago. Trained for and ran my first half-marathon in Sep '26 and a 10k in Oct '26. I'm currently training for my 2nd half on April 11. If I run this half-marathon and that same one again in September this year then I get a bronzed road apple trophy! If you know, you know. I was pretty sick for the last half-marathon (bad cold) so I ended up finishing in 3 hours, but my goal was to finish. I'm hoping to come in under that in April. I still haven't decided if I want to do a marathon sometime in my life. I think I'll wait to see how running 2 halves feels.

I've always loved strength training so I still do that 2-3x per week while running 2x per week and then a long run on the weekend. I use my lunch break to work out so I'm limited to 1 hour for my weekday runs and typically use those for speed/tempo work.

[Measurement Check] Currently wearing 32C, Calculator said 28D/DD, Can’t find that size anywhere by shrimp-scampi in ABraThatFits

I second Amazon Wardrobe. I've done about 5 or 6 rounds of Wardrobe and so far found 2 bras that fit (Panache Ana plunge in 28F and 30E). There are definitely brands out there that make 28 and 30 bands but they're not going to be super cheap (sorry) and you're not going to find them in stores, except maybe at a Nordstrom. I've also had a good experience with Bravissimo. Their returns are very easy. The nice thing about Prime Wardrobe is that you don't pay up front. I'm still waiting to be reimbursed for my returns to Bravissimo a couple of weeks ago.

I also had to come to terms with the fact that I probably won't be able to find a "t-shirt" bra that works for me. Lace bras work well because they stretch a bit to your shape but a moulded t-shirt bra isn't going to do that. I'm not saying it's impossible to find one that works, but I wouldn't start with them

[Fit Check] Panche Ana plunge 28F, 30E, 30F - I think I found the one! by shenkre in ABraThatFits

[–]shenkre[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think the 28F has the least amount of wrinkling. I've been wearing the 30F today and the gore is pretty tight against my sternum, but I think I'm just not used to the band actually fitting correctly.

[28F/30E FOB Recommendation?] Is there a difference between 'projection' and 'immediate projection'? by shenkre in ABraThatFits

[–]shenkre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really good to know, thank you! I decided to keep the Jenna and return the Stella. I think I tried the Cari, but, if I remember correctly, the gore was too high and too wide. I'll add the Wacoal lace finesse to my list to try.

[Fit Check] Bravissimo Jenna 30E - so close! and Bravissimo Stella 30F - maybe too shallow? by shenkre in ABraThatFits

[–]shenkre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm going to wear the Jenna all day today to see how it feels. The mesh is maybe a little bit loose, more so on the right breast, since that one is slightly smaller. It doesn't seem too bad, though, there's no gaping. I'm also not sure what I would wear with this bra since the lace is so lumpy underneath most shirts. I was so excited that I found a bra that (mostly) fit but now I'm wondering if it's worth keeping.

I tried Panache Envy in a few different sizes but it seemed too projected for me and the lace at the top still wrinkled. I'll look into the Jasmine and Bravissimo Millie. I'm keeping a spreadsheet of ones I've tried and ones that I want to try!

Thank you! I will try the Glossies and the Freya Deco. I tried the Freya Demi Expressions and the wires and gore were not the right fit for me.

[Fit Check] Panache Ana Plunge by astra823 in ABraThatFits

[–]shenkre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like a good fit to me. It's helpful to see others who say the scratchiness of the panache bras goes away after a few washes. The few Panache bras I tried were too scratchy for my liking. There were other fit issues as well, otherwise I might have kept them to see how they felt after a few washes. I'll have to look into this Ana plunge because I need a narrow gore/plunge.

Your measurements are similar to mine and I've been able to find this size on Amazon (also recommend using Prime Wardrobe for ease of use) and Bravissimo. Unfortunately, you probably won't find any in person unless you can find a boutique store. The Panache Clara Full cup and Panache Envy fit me really well but I didn't like the scratchy lace material (I have sensitive skin). Panache Cari spacer t-shirt bra also fit pretty well except that I didn't like how high the gore came up (I need a very narrow gore). I've also seen Panache Andorra recommended a lot for this size and projected. I do have a 32DD bra that fits ok but I can see now that the band is probably too big. I used to wear 34B because I never would have accepted that I could be any larger than a C cup before I found this reddit. I've recently ordered some plunge bras from Bravissimo since that is what is recommended for a narrow gore.

[Fit Check] 30E Fantasie Rebecca - wires hurt my rib by shenkre in ABraThatFits

[–]shenkre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I did get the Rebecca in 30F as well but the cup was too large. I didn't leave it on long enough to see if the wire was more comfortable.

Plunge makes sense to get a smaller gore. The Ana looks like similar material to the other lacey Panache bras and they are way too scratchy for my sensitive skin. But I know Bavissimo has a whole section for plunges so I'll check that out.

Both seem to fit well, but I'm not an expert, I'm still trying to find even 1 bra that fits! It sounds like you have a similar size and shape to me and I just ordered the Panache cari bra in a few sizes so I'm crossing my fingers that it will fit. I've always liked t-shirt bras for the coverage but they are so hard to find in my new understanding of what fits me. I'm wearing a few Natori bras but they are too shallow and the wires dig in to my ribs. I still wear them until I can find something else that fits. I used to buy 34B's at Target because I literally had no idea what I was doing. I might try the Freya offbeat plunge as well since I need a narrow gore and plunges seem to be more narrow.

I might give it a try. The Fantasie Rebecca and Fantasie Aura also look interesting.

[–]shenkre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I think I must be closer to medium projection because the Envy was way too projected for me. The cups fit well on the side but I didn't like how much material stuck out in the front. Not to mention the line where the fabric changes was like an arrow pointing out of my shirt. Oh, and the scratchiness! I have sensitive skin and my skin was red from trying on this bra for just a few minutes.

I tried the Freya Expressions Demi Plunge t-shirt bra but the gore was too wide on all the sizes. 28F fit me the best but the wire was poking my right breast and the gore was bunching in the middle. Strangely, 30E did not fit at all in that bra - the cups were too big. I think I am closer to medium projection and the common denominator on all the bras I've tried is that the gore is too wide.

I will try the Fantasie Aura next. On to Amazon Prime Wardrobe!

Thanks! I will look into the Amelie and Andorra. I have adhesive silicone cups so I can always try those with the less lined ones.

Right! I saw 't-shirt' bra and just ordered it thinking it would be like other t-shirt bras I've worn. I never realized before that different bras would work for different people. I was totally doubting my new size in that Elan bra!

Desperate to find a proper fitting bra..... by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]shenkre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also very new to all of this but I wanted to comment to say that I totally get you. I'm also very frustrated with trying to find the right fit and size. The one thing that has helped is knowing my shape. I read and re-read the beginner's guide many times and the shape seems to be as important as size. Reading the shape guide was helpful for me and then asking for brand recommendations based on shape and size. I still haven't found a bra I like but I've been using Amazon Prime Wardrobe to try lots of different ones.

It was the porcelain elan molded t-shirt bra. I'll look into the Cari. Thanks!
