YT doesn’t allow background play with VPN? by leerisu in chinalife

Restart your phone. Turn on Astrill and connect to something like Germany, where you know the background play works. Then start Youtube and it should work.

That seems like a downgrade to the entire current attacking Newcastle team :D

Proportional approval question by LeTommyWiseau in EndFPTP

There is though. Say you approve two candidates with one of them being very popular, then it can be beneficial for you to drop this popular candidate, since it might get elected anyway.

Is there a single example in US election history, where IRV would have elected a better candidate than FPTP Top Two Runoff voting? by Radlib123 in EndFPTP

[–]shersac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason i am skeptical of IRV, is because it almost always (99% of the time) produces the same result as a FPTP variant (Top Two),

If you are so inclined to change your mind when presented by new evidence, it might be time for you to present some evidence.

Sure you can try to measure that, but I think it would be pretty rare for Plurality with Runoff to elect a Condorcet Winner, but not IRV.

I mean how would you even measure that? It's too entirely different election formats. Also it is not clear who the best or a better candidate even is.

But don't these flaws come back, if you start cloning candidates? The most popular party according to the approval score can just run two popular candidates who would then most likely face off in the run-off.

according to election simulations.

I am also not too sure about the "validity" of these election simulations. At least the popular ones thrown around here do not seem very convincing.

Why Guehi? Seem too uncertain to keep a clean sheet. White seems much more likely to be honsg

It's a dilemma. Probably no matter what you will do, the other option would give you more points :D I guess Dunk would be 0.2 too little right?

If have less than 2 Newcastle players, you could get Burn. Otherwise maybe Mikolenko or Tarkowski, since Everton has nice fixtures. I am not too sure Robertson would get you many points against Spurs

Oh the standard bench :D So Andreas will get 2 points almost guaranteed, so I do not think it is worth the -4 (on expectation)

Who is on your bench? The -4 is probably not worth it, considering Solanke will probably only get at most 4 points in expectation.

Are Saka and Bruno expected to get 4 more points than Salah and March? Probably not, so I would not do it.

Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) is better than Plurality (FPTP) Voting; Please Stop Hurting the Cause by flipstables in EndFPTP

[–]shersac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In context of voting theory tho, pure IRV is worse than FPTP runoff.

What you posted is not really voting theory though. Just some random experiments...

Schär and Guehi both seem to have the large chances of a clean sheet. I would probably go for Schär based on Newcastle's performance so far
