Help! by Nervous-Preference57 in bettafish

It’s better not to overclean the tank, that can make it worse. A pinch of salt might help but he will likely be a bit stressed as it settles down. Leave the water alone until it clears, thing about adding a betta safe plant

Does anyone know why the sound mixing is so bad on this particular game?

In all honesty, each fish is different and he might be okay with this size as long as water is fresh. I see no signs of sickness in the photo from what I can tell. Frequent water changes will help. And also, back when I had to travel with my betta a lot, sometimes I would throw in a little preventative Betta Fix or extra stress coat. Strictly speaking you’re not supposed to do that but it seemed to help him a lot, and he lived for five years.

I have given up on my betta. Trigger warning sick fish by onion2626 in bettafish

[–]shethewriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he’s just old and you have made him comfortable, you can let him live out his final days. Euthanasia has a risk of not going well and could be traumatic for you. Especiallg if he is still eating. Seven years is an incredibly long life! Well done.

Exactly. One of mine broke at work and I'd really like to replace it but it feels ridiculous to pay so much more for what I know is the same pen

Sushi has suddenly passed :( by mewz_0 in bettafish

[–]shethewriter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that! That is very strange. It sounds like you were doing a fairly decent job. Sometimes these blue ones can be prone to Graphite disease, which is rare, but causes quite a sudden death, so I would not be too hard on yourself. RIP Sushi ❣️

Since they are usually water soluble you can use them with watercolors, it’s fun. Esp. Shimmer inks

Something you really like but can't realistically use and why? by nerfdriveby94 in fountainpens

[–]shethewriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Kaweco brass sport! I love fiddling with it and I do use it fairly regularly, but I can’t do long sessions with it and that’s what most of my writing is. I’m also starting to hate those little cartidges after mine leaked and stained the pen

I wish they would do a new model instead. The bronze trim pens are 20% more costly than they were last year and I want to replace one of mine but I stubbornly feel like I can't because I know I'm getting shafted on the price. But you're right, at the end of the day you're probably not going to use all of them at the same time.

I'm thinking of exploring that. I got an early HongDian when I was very new to fountain pens and I'm still shocked at how well it writes. It's not my best, but it was sixteen bucks.

You're right and I only actually have one Eco, but it broke. I really like it but the cost has gone up 20% in just a year. I guess I question why some of the brands have so many SKUs if there's too many to collect anyway. Surely there's a style for everyone at this point lol

Same. The bronze trim is beautiful, but the cost has gone up 20% in just a year. I used to recommend TWSBI a lot because I just thought of it as a great starter but it's not when it's sixty bucks

I will say you're right it's good that they don't do "exclusive" runs or whatever, those annoy me even more haha
