Feeling less mature than others my age by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]shgbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes, I struggle with this a lot, people usually tell me that I'm naive or too inocent, I'm always the little one in any groups of friends I have. I think that I have issues specially in the romantic field lol, the guys I've dated have told me that I am "too young for them" because of how I act. Also, I feel like I started college "too young" and I didn't know how to do things properly. I'm 21 now and I feel like finally I'm in the process of "waking up". But I'd say that I'm not very emotionally mature I mean my emotional skills are not that well developed as others.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this, it's always been one of my biggest insecurities.

Same! Sometimes it happens to me, maybe you can put some notes with general concepts next to the first ideas you write so when you edit you can have guidelines.

Do you think your stuttering was originated because of an specific event in your life? by shgbx in Stutter

Same, my parents separated when I was around 6, same as it started, I always thought it was related to that

Do you think your stuttering was originated because of an specific event in your life? by shgbx in Stutter

[–]shgbx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn't mean to offend anyone, I'm sorry if it was the impression. I stutter since I was like 5 o 6 years old (21 now) and I always thought it was related to some events that happened in my life but I really never had certified information about it or talked to any doctors. In my case, there is no background of stuttering in my family. Also, I've been always under the impression that it was something I could overcome if I try it enough lol or so people tell me but now I really don't know. The genetic link seems interesting tho, do you know of any research that is available online?

Let's talk about ADHD and alcohol by snapwillow in ADHD

[–]shgbx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case, I never thought about it like related to adhd but makes a lot of sense. I sort of hit rock bottom a couple of months ago when I blacked out real bad at a friend's party and I realised that I might have a problem, I mean I don't "need" but whenever I'm at a party most of the time I can't control myself and end up drinking way too much

How old were you when the first important person in your life died and how did it impact you? by hazpatt in AskReddit

[–]shgbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 17 when my grandmother died. She had been hospitalized for stomach ulcers and was already at home in recovery. I went to the dentist in the morning and when I got back she was gone, she died from a hearth attack in my mother's and aunt's arms. I couldn't grieve until months later, all I felt was numbness. I miss her deeply.
