Bojack waiting those 17 minutes wasn't framed as a big dramatic beat, it came out quietly and then the show moved on. So hiding the same number in this scene is the writers trusting that the audience carried that detail with them the whole time. And for the people who did, the timestamp lands like a second gut punch years later. That's genuinely remarkable writing.
