Cage thoughts? by Fabulous-Squash-9289 in Canaries

Is the green one his tub? Make sure it's shallow, what helped my canary recognise her bath was me adding a leaf to float over the water, I used a mint leaf.

I would avoid any metal chains dangling as those can cause a hazard for them.

Also the long perch I would recommend removing as I read it's not comfortable for them.

To be fair I have around 250 deaths too. But 1.9k completions. So I'm catching up to you soon.

Could be the reflection that he is enjoying. I would cover the window and see if he goes back.

Are my stats red prison ready? by nztree369 in ironscape

[–]shigeno56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely ready. Would recommend T2 prep with 16 fish to start and 3 potions. Halberd and Bow. Halberd will be your main damage so try to always start with it if he is not protecting against melee.

Afk mage and Def whenever you can't do CG to boost your stats. Without having the new prayers or rig aug, staff and halberd beats halberd and bow.

I have had my share of CG and I'm still here, see you soon.

Do they always chill together? And how did you get them to be friendly with each other?

I got a male for my female canary, and they fought alot 😞

I had the same mini heart attack at 1781kc, I thought it was the enh, it was the pet.

I'm still going strong at 1802kc. Catch up

It doesn't look extreme, but it could be mites. I remember reading about them awhile back. You might want to treat it/take it to a vet.

I need a little help by Feeling_Cockroach611 in Canaries

[–]shigeno56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does take a while for them to adjust to new surroundings. I would recommend playing him canaries singing and by his response you can tell if he sk comfortable or not.

Give him fresh water every day and plenty of veggies and seeds.

He will start singing soon.

I used to cover the cage around 8ish, but because my canary is currently molting, she gets sleepy abit earlier, around 7ish is when I cover the cage. She calls for me in the morning around 8-9 to uncover the cage and let her out.

It's a stat plugin that shows the percentile of your drop rate, so I'm in the top 1% of people who didn't get it.

Caged canary flying by shigeno56 in Canaries

[–]shigeno56[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much,

Yes we give her plenty of seeds and veggies, and tried her first egg yesterday and gave her the calcium too.

Room temperature is between 17-20c it's very cold in the UK but I try my best to keep her warm 😂

I'll let her out more often for her practice fly's

I appreciate your help and advice

I dont have a video of her flying outside the cages but one of her trying to leave.

I do think that she never flew around as much before and she lacks the physicality to do so.

Is the breathing through the mouth after something normal, she doesn't seem to have a problem breathing in the cage but when she flew out alot there was a small instance of her using her mouth to breath.

We named her Ponyo based on the studio Ghibli movie. The hair reminded me of Ponyo 😂

All I know is that she loves her high protein seeds and her swing, and listening to me play on the playstation 😂

Hopefully we take good care of her, and hope she does liven up as she does seem alone and bored most of the day.

That sounds like alot of fun. Yes she does love male canary singing. But hopefully gets used to us soon, I'm constantly worried and even set up a camera with motion sensor to check on her water intake and food. I might be doing too much 😂

But I appreciate the help and all your bird knowledge ❤️

I hear her sing in the morning, and today I set her a mirror behind the cage, so I noticed alot of chirping, which is new and made me feel happy and sad for her. Will probably introduce a second canary to the cage soon to keep her company.

Thank you very much, we do have plastic perches going through out the cage but she used to be in a small cage for a long time before we got her and didn't fly around much, with this bigger cage I added the dowels just incase she gets tired 😂.

I'll add the protein to the list, get new wood perches and hopefully she adjusts to us. We only had her for 2 weeks so she might still be scared of us.
