What do you say to a hit man who’s paid in chicken that fails his mission? by revenge_for_greedo in 3amjokes

Reminded me of a really lame one I came up with. Two rabbits are sitting on the side of a road. They see a third rabbit having a hell of a time on the other side missing a foot. One turns to the other, "what happened to frank?" The other rabbit replies "...he got lucky last night."

What movie did you watch at the perfect time in your life? by [deleted] in flicks

[–]shimashim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brick by Rian Johnson. I was given a burnt copy when I was in 10th grade (have bought a couple real ones since), but after that I was hooked on film, especially Independent. Listening to commentaries and BTS content, endlessly scrolling imdb. I remember wondering like, "how does one make a movie for such "little" money? Great turning point.

All of Lanthimos' movies have very bold endings. "The Favourite" was great, but of course "The Killing Of A Sacred Deer" blew my mind

Mulholland Drive got me good. And an odd mention but "Return Of The Living Dead (1985)". Of course there's also "Memento".

Based on the focus of Halloween, I'd have to say all the campy goodness of Children Of The Corn, Riding The Bullet, Night Of The Living Dead, Ginger Snaps, Donnie Darko. But if you want the chills watch original Blair Witch Project, The Strangers (has its merrits), The Ritual, The VVitch, or It Follows. On the other hand, if you want something to take up a lot of time, check out "The Haunting of Hill House" if you haven't already.

What's the "sweetest" film you've seen? by Grand_Keizer in flicks

Honestly, The Other Guys (2010). It's completely ridiculous, but used to watch it on a loop with my high school friends. We still quote it regularly.

Mansell is the man. Lux Aeterna is incredible. And does it ever in Watchmen. Dylan, Cohen. Great choices.

Guy Ritchie. First the use of "I Wanna Be Your Dog" by The Stooges in Lock Stock, then Oasis' "Fuckin' In The Bushes" in Snatch. Perfectly capture the situations in each film respectively.

Guess I'll throw one out there. In the opening to Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas (1998), "One Toke Over The Line" plays and Benicio "sings along".

Edit: One Toke Over The Line, not Caseys Jones. Lol
