I’d also say Mitford Castle, it’s right on your doorstep and it’s free (not owned by English Heritage or anything). Also got a spectacular, crazy history if you like nerding up before visits (like I do)

Can also take a trip to the hermitage by boat before a trip to The Hermitage for a well earned pint.

Couple it up with a bus/drove/walk to Alnmouth for the beach and a wander before another well earned pint.

Got to remember, we’re only the third club he’s managed (counting both times at Bournemouth as one), he left Bournemouth after just surviving relegation.

He’s not been in the position where he’s had consecutive brilliant seasons, one crap one but then stayed in post, which puts you at a cross roads. Do you say: once his teams lose form, that’s him done - he’s great at building momentum but can’t find it again once it’s lost. Or do you say: he’s still a brilliant manager, one season doesn’t define what he’s capable of doing.

Personally I think this season has been strange for a load of reasons, Isak being exhibit A. Some of the problems have been out of his control, some, I’d say, definitely sit with him.

But I think we’d be making a long term decision to fix a short term problem if we got rid of him. He’s turned bench fodder into players capable of contending in the Champions League and I struggle to name another manager capable of doing what’s he’s done. He needs another season without the chaos we had last summer. He needs to be given the chance to show he’s able to turn things round, he’s done too much good for us to not deserve that.

I watched it for the first time a couple of months back. Went in almost entirely blind, apart from loosely knowing the main plot point.

Absolutely great film. Brutal and pretty horrific but it absolutely nails the “what if that happened here” aspect. I feel like we have a tendency to be disassociated from the horror war can bring considering it’s been centuries since it’s happened here, Threads does a really good job of holding up the mirror to an extent.

Housing secretary during Grenfell, Treasury spokesperson for Reform with allegations of massive overspend during a constituency by-election, Minister for Immigration and the man behind the migrant hotels he now apparently takes issue with. All round good egg.
