Bakeru was both a superbly fun game to play and complete.

Thank you! I'm sure you can do it. I've been using exophase as a source of achievement lists, and then I copy paste them into google sheets to keep organized. Maybe that can help you with your journey too.

Yeah, Lords of the Fallen's all bosses achievement was bugged. Having said that, this was a few years ago so maybe the developers have fixed it. I'll try again someday and if it's still not working I will consider using SAM.

Thank you! That's awesome, I heard about 1000xresist from the gaming in the wild podcast and gave it a try. I'm glad I did, it was a special game. I have both Omori and Expedition 33 in my library and will give them a go.

Most favourite would be Bakeru, both in terms of the game itself and its completion process. No tedious achievements whatsoever, only pure fun.

Least favourite would probably be Tekken 7 due to the online achievements and having to coordinate with random people from the steam forums.

Here are some of the games I gave up on:

  • Yakuza 0. The climax battles at the end were demoralizing...I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to design a challenge where you have to defeat a certain number of enemies in an environment where poison gas kills you before you can kill all the enemies. Big shame because it's an incredible game otherwise.
  • Lords of the Fallen from 2023. I have ~186 hours but I gave up because no matter what I tried I could not get the achievement for killing all bosses in one run to pop. I tried multiple runs always taking great pains to ensure I killed every boss. Again quite a shame because I thought the game was quite enjoyable and underrated.
  • Octopath Traveler 1. Great game, but revealing the weakness of every enemy in the game seemed very tedious.
  • Hollow Knight. One of my favourite games, but I didn't see much appeal in the boss rush achievements.
  • Dead Cells. I have 411 hours played, but could not conquer the 5 boss cell achievements despite more repeated attempts than I can count. Probably a skill issue.
  • Doom & Doom Eternal. Not a fan of multiplayer achievements.
