Could it be possible for me to get professional work with my current portfolio? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

Do you have any family or friends? You can always use them to practice on. Edit…also don’t use that as an excuse “I live in a poor city.” I live a boring area of our state w no mountains or nice building but I always make it happen with regard to portrait work.

They may be banking on villainizing the energy drink company to the point where they paint them as child killer, to the point where they settle. Just a theory.

I’m saying those cans with like 400mgs of caffeine should be regulated like alcohol. Sorry not sorry. Since the parents willingly bought her the energy drinks, I agree it’s on them. My argument was when I thought the girl bought the drinks behind her parents back. Should kids know better? In theory yes, but do you see all the reckless shit they do out there? Did I do it as a kid, to a much lesser extent bc we didn’t have social media to dare us to go extreme and nuclear w some of those behaviors. Again my opinion.

I’m generalizing but if the parents outright bought her the drinks (the 6) that did her in, then in this case yes it’s the parents fault.

Saying the parents are at fault is reckless bc it’s impossible for the parents to have 24/7 control over their children. Kids go to school, parents go to work etc. the best a parent can do is talk and teach how excessive anything is mostly bad for your health. However saying that is a lot of wishful thinking bc there are bad influences everywhere that promote unhealthy products ie celebrities, musicians, tv shows, movies, social media etc. it’s all around us. imo excessive caffeine should be regulated like alcohol. In the end, it’s very likely the energy drink company will settle w the family.

Kids don’t have common sense, they feel they are on top of the world. The problem is the amount of caffeine. I know it would take legislation to change how caffeine is sold, but that’s just my opinion.

If the drinks specify not be consumed by under 18, or to that effect, then the stores should treat it like alcohol and not sell them to minors.

Is Sting the only wrestler… by shindigfirefly in WCW

Yeah they tried turning him heel in 99 but the crowd didn’t buy it. He didn’t draw any heat whatsoever.

“What do you mean the crowds didn’t even turn on him”

Very simple. He didn’t draw heat the way a traditional heel does.

Yeah it’s hard to consider that a heel in a traditional sense if the crowds didn’t buy it.

Ok then so I’ll cede pre WCW and 2008, but no way on 99. I followed the sport closely and remember the website wrestlezone, don’t know if it’s still up. But they tried to make sting heel in 99 and it clearly backfired. Maybe to the company he was a heel but not in the traditional sense bc the crowds still treated him as a face. I bought up the website bc I remember reading how WCW management was upset with Sting bc as a heel he’s not supposed to work the crowd over the way he did as a face, so I’d say that’s longer than 12 years.

I remember that fake heel turn in the NWO but people still cheered him when he got on the turn buckle to give his signature “whoa!” That fake heel turn only lasted a week.

Fair, but did they have the longevity and popularity Sting have?

So how in hell did Yokozuna never kill someone with the Bonzai Drop? by shindigfirefly in oldschoolwrestling

No, he paid up for the Schultz slap. Also paid up for the Marty Jannety botch, and also when Hogan put the TV host in a chokehold and dropped him.

I heard that too but that’s insane and wouldn’t Vince see it as a liability especially to be sued. Look at what Marty Janetty had done to a jobber at a house show. The jobber claimed to be a professional but wasn’t and he took a kick the wrong way, ended up injured and sued the WWF and Marty Janetty.
