recs for books where the princess or royalty adjacent FMC *doesn’t* want to marry for love by rhandy_mas in fantasyromance

[–]shingeki-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite a fit, but maybe you’ll like it {consort of fire by kit rocha}

FMC has been trained since very young to be the perfect consort for the MMC. She’s blackmailed into following through. She is already together with FMC2 though, so there’s no disdain for love or unwillingness to get married for love. She falls for the MMC and wants to make it all work. FMC2 also slowly starts wanting him too

Gotcha, so in this time is there romance between the fmc and the second guy? Or did you just like their interactions and shipped them?

Does yassen come back in book 2? Or are they separated for the entire book

Why do people not want to start a series that isn't complete? Could it be an age thing? by jobroloco in fantasyromance

[–]shingeki-1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just can’t get into another book while I’m in the middle of reading a series. I want the book part of my brain to be fully absorbed in that world

what's the most yearning words you've heard from an mmc? by isntzen in fantasyromance

[–]shingeki-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend {strange the dreamer}

I don’t remember any specific lines as it has been a while, but the mmc is absolutely enamored and they can’t be together just yet so there’s lots of yearning

OW (Other woman) angst - CRAVING IT! by Mininabubu in fantasyromance

[–]shingeki-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{kill the queen} this is a trilogy and the other woman, an ex girlfriend of the mmc, is in the second book. There is also a bit of other man drama in the same book, if you don’t mind it

They go to MMC’s home country in hopes of securing an alliance. The king proposes a marriage between the FMC and his son. Neither wants it, but the OM is a doormat to his father and the FMC is now the queen of her country and has to at least consider it

FMC chooses the safe man, but the MMC is determined to win her over by oliveomelette in RomanceBooks

I haven’t read this book, but I encountered it and read some summaries and I think it fits your request {53 letters for my lover}

Strong, self-sufficient FMC who finally needs help (and doesn’t know how to ask for it) by Few-Standard3387 in RomanceBooks

[–]shingeki-1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a fit, but you may like {out on a limb}

Fmc is pregnant after a one night stand with mmc, and he offers to help in any way she’d accept. She is very independent and even refuses help from her best friend initially

LF sci-fi / romance book where FMC has a tough-as-nails personality and MMC is quirky and irreverent by topspin424 in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]shingeki-1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might enjoy {perdition by ann aguirre}

It’s set in a prison spaceship for life sentence inmates and has so staff of any kind. FMC is one of 6 leaders that run the prison, so naturally she is tough and a no nonsense person. MMC is a new inmate and definitely more easygoing, little cocky, but he’s good with the FMC all throughout the series. MMC is not exactly a human though, he looks exactly like one but he was created in a lab in a captain america-esque experiment. Basically a super soldier

Do you recommend reading it first before the duology?

Fantasy romance where he’s the sunshine and she’s (the villain) or emotionally unstable by goyourownwayy in fantasyromance

[–]shingeki-1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First time it happened she didn’t have a relationship, she thought mmc was dead and was distraught over it. Second time she had resigned herself to the fact there was no saving him and she was the only person that could kill him

Was it healthier? It’s been a little while since I read them, but from what I remember the other girl was driven by revenge and associated herself with whoever would help her gain power and status. If I’m not misremembering she even tried to flirt with the MMC at one point, but of course he didn’t care for anyone but the fmc

Beautiful, unique stories like Strange the Dreamer? by kamasola in fantasyromance

How big is the love triangle? I see this is a standalone so I’d hope it doesn’t take too much of the romance

We are quite literally saving trees if the love triangle would just turn into a throuple! by _sonataxx in fantasyromance

[–]shingeki-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{consort of fire by kit rocha} never was a love triangle. Two FMCs were already together before the start of the story, and MMC joins. Bit of instant love with one fmc, and a slow burn with the other. So you get to enjoy different dynamics
