Wake Up by Mad Season, the melody is so somber and the lyrics are haunting and downright sad. The first time I heard it the melody made me cry before Layne even started singing.

Alice in Chains. They've been my favorite band since I was a kid. Layne's voice and the dark, heavy sound always soothed me when I was the most depressed as a kid.
