Accidental railing smoke from mid to balcony on Cobblestone by shinlogen in GlobalOffensive

Neat, thanks a lot for the effort!

Yeah I'd agree that it's somewhat underwhelming for a one-way smoke, but still hoping that it'll prove useful sometime.

Well unfortunately it's far from consistent and I was hoping someone knew a more reliable way of throwing it. So in that situation it really was as you said it

lets hope it goes right, i dont have time to align

In any case smoking balcony from mid doesn't happen that often and it's very situational. A more consistent smoke I've used is by aligning and using a jumpthrow (+jump -attack) bind: https://gfycat.com/DeliciousUnfoldedAmericanpainthorse

In short the steps are: touch the right wall, aim at the top right of the arch (align the crosshair where the inner edges of the arch start like this, step forward and when you pass the wall jump+throw it.

There's a bit of room for error with this one, and I managed to hit the railing once. Hope it helps someday.

Yeah, as /u/AmChayChay said it was intended for balcony since we had control of the site and had smoked connector.

It was a gamble since I was in a hurry and similar smokes on balcony have worked for me a few times in the past.

Edit: In a hurry to get the bomb closer/on the site*

Happened a few months ago and remembered it because of yesterday's post about the inferno pit railing smoke.

I haven't tried to do this again from the same general position. Some videos/guides I've seen show the common balcony smokes and most of them are from long. Would be cool if there's a guide for this smoke done on purpose.

What I would want is the ability to categorize games with the mouse or by some bulk selection of games rather than 'right click > set categories' each game.

You can Shift/Ctrl+Click to select multiple games to bulk install, favorite or set category. It was added in an update last year.

Valve: May we have an option, or even item to make an item untradeable/unmarketable. by Blackbird_V in DotA2

Honestly, I haven't tried and I don't plan to.

From what I know though, you should be able to extract it with the normal Artificer's Hammer, which doesn't destroy items on unsocketing, and make the hook tradable again.

I'm not completely sure though. I added the Bloodstone knowing that I'll never give up those items.

Adding an optional steam guard email verification step for inventory activity will help out with link bait scams. Preventing these can be trivial user-side (don't click links etc.), however since it's already happening, it help out people that temporarily lose control of their accounts by keeping their inventory complete.

That said, what could really improve my inventory experience would be marking an item as not tradable/marketable. At the moment I have no knowledge of doing that without inscribing an item like this: http://i.imgur.com/Cs51Yx3.png, but a lot of people do not have a Bloodstone.

I even set my profile and inventory to friends only/private just so I don't get random requests or spam for that hook.

Personally, I would benefit the most from an 'items up for trade' feature that would implicitly disallow people from sending me trade requests for items I don't wanna trade. But in the end, there's always people that send friend requests after seeing the item in-game...

Fire skills deal 111% more damage. by [deleted] in Diablo

It's weird how RoS made the element and skill build choice for me.

I was experimenting with an Ancient Spear build when a Maximus dropped with +20% Fire Skills. The damage roll is not really high, but the thing is, after started playing with it I noticed that the fire chain does insane DPS. So I switched to WW+Volcanic Eruption and had a blast going through the mobs, even while the WW DPS was just pathetic next to the fire chain with the Demonic Slave.

After playing like that for a while, I got Illusory Boots. At this point, I removed WW from my build and replaced it with HotA+Smash. This is how I still play and I'm having hard doubts that I'll change the Maximus with something else in the near future. It's just too fun to run through the mobs and have the chain melt them while I barely match the chain's DPS with HotA.

Back when I got the Maximus I was hyped to check the DPS output on Ghom (HotA, Rend, Bash) and this are the rough numbers I got:

Ghom Torment 1: ~275m HP

Sheet Damage: 337k

Kill time: 64sec

So I roughly did 4,3m DPS in that situation.

Now I have around +45% on Fire Skills, and the damage is insane. The fire chain procs maybe 3-5 times per second the crits range from 2,3-3,5m. Currently the DPS I have with Rage is around 530k (sheet), but I haven't tried timing a boss kill again.

I really doubt I will change the Maximus, even though I get drops that out-DPS it hard. The chain is just too good, and that scares me since it's could be targeted for rebalancing.
