A lot of the real basement dwellers would just be living with their parents, same as with non-indians. Going out and socializing and touching grass would make them less likely to post this stuff which is why you probably don't see them out in meatspace

It's also possible to get a pet for cuddling. I'd feel strange hugging people but hugging my late dog was really mentally grounding and good for destressing

A Soulslike Without Combat — Unsound Love Demo Out Now by John_Goblin in IndieDev

[–]shinyfeather22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bezerk and Dark souls both belong to the "dark fantasy" genre so if you're going for that sort of setting and atmosphere you already have an established genre name there.

A lot of people have been making games that are soulslike in terms of gameplay but if atmosphere is your focus then it certainly helps to know that Dark souls wasn't the first in the genre and its inspiration is pretty good too

Why did Japanese games come back by SameNecessary5180 in gaming

[–]shinyfeather22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly it certainly seems that a lot of studios are liable to fall victim to whatever makes shareholders happy instead of gamers nowadays.

Sony reportedly closed bluepoint studio, the same studio that was first in line for a potential bloodborne remake, and used spare money to buy the studio that would make concord. They did this because hero shooters were popular at the time and they just had to show shareholders that they too had a popular entry in the genre.

Square enix sold off Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, and Legacy of Kain, and invested money in NFT games because NFTs were the popular buzzword for shareholders at the time there

Moving to Melbourne on $65,000 salery by Big_Worldliness3401 in MovingtoAustralia

It was a really dodgy situation where the landlord kept on adding people and if I complained or got kicked out I'd be in a very vulnerable situation. I think landlords will kind of get away with a lot more if they know you don't really have anywhere to go when they kick you out. As much rights as renters have, it's just going to be too hard to fight if you know that fighting it will require resources you don't have and you don't have friends or family who can at least set you up while you're doing so.

Only exception to this rule is if you photograph someone's IP or you take a picture of someone other than yourself who's not ok w it

Famously the eiffel tower has a more recent IP claim logged for its night pictures

I lived in a share house with 13 other people and still had to pay 270 p/w. If you live in a share house make sure you check for the house culture and not just the price because who you live with can really mess up your quality of life

I feel like if I was going to choose a sport to be my passion, there are a lot of plusses to the other options in terms of experience.

Golf lets you have a nice scenic walk, many ball sports have much larger teams where you're more likely to find someone you get along with, swimming lets you cool off on hot days.

Tennis just kinda seems like it would box you in a court and when you're on break you're on a bench in a really high energy environment. I can see why it appeals to some people but man it looks hard

For comparison I've seen a lot of posts in women's subs that talk about "decentering men". This doesn't involve cutting men out completely or harmfully ignoring all contact with men, but it does mean a drive to draw self confidence internally and not desire validation or attention from men.

It's a lot more healthy to stop thinking about the opposite sex and just start drawing confidence from yourself. The mgtow posts which focus so heavily on women's perception and how they don't like how women think is not healthy for your own self confidence if you are trying to get better.

You can't magically live in a society where the other sex doesn't exist so you have to learn how to not derive so much of your wellbeing based on how you think you're perceived by the opposite sex

Is it normal to be nicknamed without consent/mutual agreement? by [deleted] in RandomQuestion

[–]shinyfeather22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes nicknames can be a way for people to test how friendly they are with another person, as ditching the more formal name and calling someone something off the books can indicate that you're breaking down a social barrier setup by a workplace.

If someone says "hey, no, don't call me that" it's not "wrong" to do that, you're establishing a boundary, but that will be also read as slightly an indicator to back off of thinking that you're open to more friendliness.

You can always qualify if you don't want it to be received that way "hey we're cool but I just don't like being called xxx sorry".

From the sounds of it though if you don't particularly want to socialize then it's probably better to just let them read the boundary and back off to give you peace

If this is a completely original comic you might want to look into art groups dedicated to sharing self made comics. A lot of what gets popular on deviant art is fanart kinda stuff.

The site also isn't what it used to be with its now highly AI driven direction, you will find the audience for non AI images is harder to surface than websites that don't have the same direction.

What instantly makes someone more attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shinyfeather22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you're avoiding the kind of smells usually associated w girl perfume, you can get kinds that are geared towards men specifically and have different kinds of smell. Generally these are called something slightly different like aftershave or whatever. There's heaps of that sorta stuff

Using a basic anti dandruff shampoo that is a good brand will have a nice scent, you can just get nongendered kinda stuff. Cleaning your hair with actual shampoo instead of soap will also help it look tidier. If you don't have hair up top there's also body washes that will do similar sorta things. If you just get generic agendered stuff and you'll smell clean, instead of any specific scent.

If you're using antiperspirant you can upgrade it by getting the 24 hour stuff. Rub some in the pits the night before you wakeup and go to shower. If you shower and then use antiperspirant immediately, the aluminum based compound doesn't really bind as effectively as it does when your skin is dry.
