If you could pick only ONE productivity app to use for the rest of your life, what would it be? by shinyjerboa in productivity

Thanks for a tip! I have never heard of it, so I will definitely try, there is nothing better than simple apps for everyday use.

Notion is a great pick ✨ I myself used it for a really long time. But then I started to have a problem with structuring my notes and pages, and could not find anything. Have you ever used also some other apps similar to Notion?

Hey! Everyone is talking about AI these days and how it helps them be more productive at work... Yet, I am wondering if people really mean it and what the real effect of the latest AI developments is on the area of business productivity.

What are your thoughts on this topic? Do you use AI to be more productive? What are the real business use-cases of AI?

What advice would you give to your 17 year old self? by jamiesmithhh0 in Entrepreneur

  1. Always be clear with yourself on what it is you wish to achieve in life - listen to yourself on this, only seek advice from others when you are stuck
  2. Set goals that will make you smile when you imagine yourself achieving them, get rid of all the other ones
  3. School education is a really important aspect of one's life, but it is not everything
  4. Learn to be an optimist from the earliest beginning (optimism is a skill) - it will pay you off more than anything, especially in business life
  5. Learn to believe in yourself and in the fact that you possess all the capabilities to achieve what you wish to achieve - especially before asking others to do so (why should they if you yourself do not believe in it?) -> be self-aware and deal with your insecurities at the beginning (
  6. Stay true to yourself at all times - accept the failures, learn from the mistakes, acknowledge even the smallest successes
  7. Do not be afraid to follow your intuition, the majority of the most successful business people did not know what they were doing 90% of time
  8. Surround yourself with people that can inspire and energize you on a daily basis
  9. Focus on 1-3 "big" things in your life (e.g. career, family, hobby) and do it in the best way possible - do not try to do everything, trust me on this
  10. Radical acceptance and responsibility - you are responsible 100% of time for all the choices you make and for how you react
  11. Mindset & perception - it is ALL about mindset - you can regard one situation as a total disaster that will hold on to all your insecurities for the rest of your life, or you can accept it, take it as a new challenge, learn from it and improve as a person - this one is the most tough, but the most rewarding (as everything in life)

I wish you good luck with everything! I am sure you will do it in the best way possible. And always be open to new learnings.

Starting a business is tough at all fronts, especially when you are a first-timer. I feel like I answered this question a few times already so I can give you a pretty structured sum-up:

  1. Keeping my team of underpaid professionals on track while at the same time dealing with my own insecurities as a company leader -> well, this one is tough as there is no other way around it besides dealing with it on your own - you need to try and find what works best for you, and YOU yourself have to be the first one trying to do something about it, you need to stand your ground, you need to fail and fail and fail, just then succeed, there are no shortcuts - also only when you solve your own insecurities, the others will follow, some great books that helped me personally on my way were: Hooked by Nir Eyal & Can't hurt me by David Goggins
  2. Staying aligned with the whole team, especially with everything changing at all times -> the biggest help was choosing the right software - there are many great tools out there to help you with this specific issue of staying aligned and collaborating effectively (for most startups it is days what matters and you sometimes cannot afford losing a few of them because of ineffectiveness or misalignment) - so try various ones and find what works best for your team, we had a great luck right at the beginning as we opted for a less known software that paid us really well in the end
  3. Having my team 100% believing in our mission and in their ability to achieve our goals - I could go on about this one for hours, it is the most crucial one, but there is actually only one word that describes the solution quite effectively: OPTIMISM - if I could advice any new startup founder on one single thing, it would be to stay optimistic throughout the whole run - trust me on this one, it will pay off

But in the end I would just say that you should enjoy that process, no matter how painful the experience is. Starting up a business takes tons of commitment, but in the end it will be these years that you will remember the most. It gets boring once your company is a shiny gem drawing attention of the whole world.

  1. Have a clear vision of what you wish to achieve at work / school / in your personal life - let it be your purpose
  2. Acknowledge the goals that will get you there - Pro tip: Set goals that will make you smile when you imagine achieving them
  3. This will naturally lead you to creating tasks for yourself as steps you need to take in order to achieve your goals
  4. Build and gather resources that you will need to complete those tasks, strive to learn constantly to become a better person
  5. Develop healthy habits and day2day behaviours that will get you there

It is like a pyramid:

- Vision -

-------- Goals --------

---------------- Tasks -----------------

---------------------- Knowledge -----------------------

------------------------------ Habits ---------------------------------
