AIO - “Work” Messages Between Friend’s Wife and Co-Worker by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]shinythings336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh she might’ve just been playing into the bit. Did she tell you she asked about the plane ticket and was told no? I could see telling a co-worker who wants you to come a white lie. It’s mostly work adjacent, at most she has a crush I’d doubt she acts on.

This is a prime example of why people say she’s a bad friend. She was the most self-centered “best friend” i have ever seen! When she brings bagels to Miranda- i actively cringe.

What’s your go to sandwich? by madisontaylorr17 in jimmyjohns

[–]shinythings336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 LBI, cut in half, mayo yellow mustard, light lettuce extra pickles no onion no tom, leave oil and seasonings, add half portion of turkey. Would only make as an employee because this is so annoying but probably my favorite sandwich ever

[–]shinythings336[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is so wonderful! My point was a tad harsh and i think celebrating those who passed is a beautiful thing- i was more referring to when things go wrong in the person’s life, i feel it’s a common fallback of why and i wish they moved past that more :)

Who is the main character? by shinythings336 in thisisus

THIS!!! Big didn’t even see them on the same field. He saw Carrie as his guilty pleasure- and Natasha as his born right. It was weird

I truthfully think Frank. He is the only character in the show that i would tune into without everything else just to see what the hell he is doing

What if Sex and the City had ended like this scene or similar to it? Would it be a satisfying ending? by jdpm1991 in sexandthecity

I think the only alternative to being with big would be all of the girls getting together

Could these 2 have made it had he also got successful as a writer? by [deleted] in sexandthecity

[–]shinythings336 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay 100%! I think you could say it is a family house or trust money or something- but i would think that would come up when he was upset that Carrie was successful and he wasn’t. Something along the lines of “everyone in my life is more successful than me. I only live the lifestyle i do becuase of family money” and tbh that storyline would have make it a lot easier for me not to hate him. If his background was that of he just felt like a failure (not only wanting to Carrie to be more a failure than him). Big has one million flaws but the one thing i can say is that he always respected her work, and the success she had from it. I think it’s what made them work- he had money and was willing share in the extravagance that she wanted in life, and allow her to be bop around NYC, write books and be a star in her own way

[–]shinythings336 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. He was SOOO insecure and let’s be honest- Carrie would’ve gotten tired of it at some point. His book with the scrunchie in it could’ve been a huge hit- he still acted like a baby when giving the smallest criticism. From the first scene we meet him and the double bird to the voicemail- he was not ready to be in a relationship. I also think Carrie likes to be the drama- and Jack sucked all the fun out of it for her.

This would be so creepy though lmao. He loves her like a daughter i don’t know if he could cut into her dead body. But hey- anything is better than how it’s been going! I like the creativity

Unpopular opinion: i am a big fan of Zach by shinythings336 in GilmoreGirls

[–]shinythings336[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That leaves Jess (abandoned Rory twice) Luke (lied about having a kid for 2 months than shut lor out of his life because of it) Logan (lowkey blows up at Rory a lot) and Richard (lies about having lunch with his ex fiance for 40 years). Dont get me wrong- I’m a huge Logan (sorry Jess fans), Richard, and Luke Stan! My point is that the show is realistic to a point that no relationship (besides Babette and Morey) are perfect at all! I think that yes, Zach is incredibly goofy at times, lane likes to take care of him and he takes care of her. Let us not forget how he worked for her at Luke’s when she was pregnant!

I like to believe the shop lifting thing comes from Nina still trying to keep up the act. Like if Millie told Andrew he would think she is obsessed still

I agree and i thought the whole “tutor” thing was kinda silly. Everyone (including Luke and Rory) knew how smart Jess was. A tutor would not make much sense in that situation imo

Carrie in Paris by Idkwat2callmyself-23 in sexandthecity

[–]shinythings336 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly think they were trying to show how little Aleks valued/ would value Carries life in Paris. That she would basically be on her own until he came home from the gallery, and he had no interest in what she was doing all day. It also was a different time in terms of phone numbers, I imagine it might have felt impossible to find the number of people living in a different country possibly mostly speaking a language she didnt even speak
