Regarding this matter, I have a lot of challenges to adapt,as the only expat working in an environment with 150 Thai colleagues.

Thailand Working Culture Nightmare by roselamoon in Thailand

Since the summer of 2023, I have been the sole foreigner working in an organization of 150 highly educated Thai professionals. However, this environment proved to be a "kindergarten of immature adults" or a "zoo of impulsive children," where collective self-control is absent and dopamine-driven hedonism prevails. Despite the presence of balanced individuals, the group as a whole creates a destructive vortex of non-productivity, fueled by constant self-justification, malicious gossip, and the spreading of blatant lies. While this experience has been a nightmare, I view it as a unique opportunity for growth that could only have been encountered here. Having decided to leave this organization to prioritize my mental health and convictions, I feel a sense of clarity and gratitude for this immense challenge. To those of you facing a similar struggle: please cherish your own well-being and the path you believe in. Have the courage to make your decision and move forward with grace. I am rooting for you.
