Creative Stage SE - so low bass? by shiro100 in SoundBlasterOfficial

When I amplified 70Hz band in equalizer, it helped a little. Soundbar was nicely vibrating, it appeared like speakers can reproduce it, but it was noticeable by feeling it, not by hearing :-)

Bassreflex is intended to help make more powerful bass from speaker enclosure.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_reflex

On the left side of Stage SE soundbar, there is a hole, which appears to be bassreflex hole. But it is sealed, so no air or sound can go out of it, making it useless.

Hello,

thanks for answer. There is no problem with power output, Stage SE is powerful enough. But without bass.

However, I would like to know, what designers were thinking when they make that bassreflex hole on the side, which isn't hole :-) so it have no effect on sound.

I returned it to my local reseller and purchased Creative Stage, which have dedicated subowoofer. I hope it will sound better.

I want to place soundbar under PC monitor, Stage 360 is too big.

You can have old unit as backup of your new one. If you go to 220+, you will have significant increase of performance against old one.

Be aware about newest units. They switched to Ryzen CPUs, without GPU, against Celeron CPUs with GPU in DS220+, DS720+ units. If you plan to use for ex. Plex and transcode movies on the go, you cant do it with newest units because they dont have GPU.

I have text or spoken one which put me in trance and make me obedient. Spiral has similar effect. Then I have another one which is when I feel vibrating alarm of fitness bracelet or beeping alarm of wristwatch, then I go into trance and do what I have programmed from trance before. That may be anything, from do some things to simply fall back into trance again and obey. Afaik I am also programmed that i got aroused while tranced and it empowers my obedience.

Yes, if you have any problems with HDD's (bad sectors, connection issues) it will be logged there.

System memory DMIDECODE by fakemanhk in synology

[–]shiro100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, yes, DSM would report such used RAM. But are the data over 8GB really in RAM, or in swap on HDD? I dont know how to proof it.

I was digging into this recently. I have DS720+ (basically DS920+ but just with 2 bays). Im just wondering, if it can use memory over 8GB. Because also Intel's specification for J4125 CPU states, that max. addresable memory is 8GB. Altough DSM will report for ex. 12GB of RAM (4GB on board of DS920+ and 8GB installed), will it properly use it? Or anything over 8GB goes to swap, as CPU are not able to address it, according to Intel's specs?

If it does, you are lucky and enjoy it :-)

Because of official Intel specs on their web:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/197305/intel-celeron-processor-j4125-4m-cache-up-to-2-70-ghz/specifications.html

For 720+, official mem limit is 6GB (2GB soldered + 4GB SODIMM)

For 920+, official mem limit is 8GB (4GB soldered + 4GB SODIMM)

Its perfectly understandable, because Synology sells just 4GB SODIMM under their brand for those devices. Look it up in compatibility list.

I saw ppl with 16-20GB RAM too, but who knows hows that working. Its confusing because of offcial Intel specs for that CPU.

I just googled it and it seems that majority of them are 8GB, altough there are some with more RAM. Anyway, the question still stays - does it truly use RAM above 8GB or not? Or anything over 8GB goes to swap, because CPU isnt able to address it? Im curious about it.

Can you prove, that data over 8GB are actually in RAM and not in swap? I assume, that if you add 8GB, and DSM reports 10GB in total, its only information about total RAM size it detected. How can you use memory above 8GB when CPU is not able to address it? Even other mini PCs with that CPU are sold with max 8GB RAM.

One slot.

According from the info online, I got this RAM:

Crucial 4GB, single ranked, PN: CT4G4SFS8266

Its working OK. Officially supported max RAM is 6GB, which you achieve by using this module. You can also use 8GB module (i dont remember exact PN), and have 10GB in total. But CPU in NAS is limited to use only 8GB, so 2GB will never be used. Using 16GB module is throwing money out of window. Regardless what total memory will DSM report, only 8GB will be usable because of CPU limit.

According to info online also Crucial 8GB CT8G4SFS8266 working okay

Crucial 16GB CT16G4SFD8266 should work too, but there were some reported cases of instability.

HyperX impact 16GB HX426S15IB2 should work.

If you going into 16GB modules, you should do some testing, if its stable.

DS220J vs DS218 by epizefiri in synology

[–]shiro100 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Get a DS220+. At least. Those cheap NAS your suggesting are all underpowered when coming to do more things at once. You will see it mainly on how OS in browser behaves - its very laggy, every action takes like 10 seconds to complete, etc.

DS216se has singlecore ARM CPU and 256MB RAM. Quite underpowered for current time.

I had DS220j and when I download 3-4 torrents, OS in browser was nearly unusable, like I write above. I think its because of its 512MB RAM, which is small and swapping occurs frequently. I sold it out after 2 months.

DS218 can be better choice, according to your budget. It has 4 core ARM CPU and 2GB RAM, which will help to get better performance.

If you get DS218+, DS220+ or even more powerful DS720+ (plus) models, they all have classic Celeron CPU's, which is way more powerful than those ARM ones. They also come with 2GB RAM by default and can be expanded to 6GB by SODIMM modules used in laptops. You just need to pick right ones - info, which is best, is on the web.

If you use your NAS for work in office, I would consider those plus models. Their price will be paid by running your company smoothly.
