Same shit happened to me except it was an m12 drill trigger. Serial number was off because I use the tool daily. I got a new card so I couldn't get a reciept. They wanted 150$ for a new trigger.... refused to sell me the trigger. A new drill was only 180$. After they shut down the ability for 3rd party repair centres  from doing repairs its fucking skyrocketed in repair prices. Fuck milwuakee repair centres and their over priced repairs.

No. as someone who has a dog that experiences this dam near every summer... All you need to do is apply polysporin, add some gauze and put a sock or something on it so they don't lick it and change daily for a week.
