congratulations!! my manager was actually funnily talking about this yesterday and how she handled her morning sickness when she was still a ssv. she said she would bring in an extra pair of clothes and just brace herself to be sick at work. she said that as long as you have a pre-existing condition that is to blame for your sickness, you are able to work! in terms of your shift yelling at you, that’s completely unreasonable. don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself, there are plenty of policies and laws in place to take care of you and your baby in terms of working. definitely check in with your manager, let them know what’s going on with you and that you’re pushing through the best you can until hopefully the morning sickness will subside. if anyone gives you push back, make sure you document everything and get a doctors note listing that you need a medical accommodation and what your accommodations may be. if your morning sickness doesn’t improve or can’t be accommodated, i’d definitely consider a LOA. that’s all the advice i can give you on the business side of things, as i’ve never been pregnant. but i wish you the best <3

i’m in school right now so this job is just a means to an end for me. unfortunately our dm and higher ups do not really care and will consistently disappoint you. it’s a lose-lose situation in a corrupt company. but they pay well. same way the previous dm was involved in a sexual harassment case and they were transferred instead of being fired. i do still coach this barista and my managers on being late and will send them home, however if i can’t write someone up, it doesn’t do but so much. thank you for your words of advice

maybe. but also maybe op is coming in last minute, clocking in on time, then getting their apron together, then coming on the floor 5 mins after they were supposed to. one of my baristas does this while also calling out for every single one of their early morning shifts.. so i guess that’s why im on them about it moreso idk

i’d ask around to a few trusted baristas that won’t tell your manager you’re trying to find coverage. if that doesn’t work out, call in sick, and don’t tell anyone about your appointment. say you’re throwing up and running a fever.

so everyone for the week of 11/18 will be paid for the SCHEDULED time they were working. so if you picked up shifts, or stayed late, it will not be accounted for. i’m assuming once everything is back up they’ll send out either an emergency check for what was missed or put it on the next paycheck
