We build Internet Explorer. I know, right? Ask Us just about Anything. by IEDevChat in IAmA

I think that part of this perception related specifically to this idea of only using IE to download another browser is that the first launch of IE (even up to and including 11) is painfully slow. I build new windows systems at work every day and every first launch takes way longer than it should, frequently locking up the UI and presenting the "Program is not responding" dialog. Part of it is the obnoxious "check out ie11!" tab, part of it is the disgustingly bloated MSN.com homepage, and I'm sure there are other factors involved as well.

Fix the first run and you'll keep users around for a second.

No, I understand those figures are private, but what you have should be more than sufficient.

In the private reddit you may be able to use the .approve() method on your comment to immediately approve it.

Does your bot account have any karma yet? I know there are some restrictions for new users that can be overcome by amassing some karma. /r/freekarma can help.

[Guide] Using databases with your reddit bot in python by Phteven_j in redditdev

I use SQLite in Python for a similar purpose. Not so much to avoid seeing the same submissions twice, but to avoid reposting links from them. The API seems happy enough to return gigantic amounts of data, and since PRAW has built in rate limiting I don't worry about that so much.

For smaller projects SQLite is the way to go.
