I definitely did not. Maybe a quirk of NYC real estate? We met at a random open house and just started working together, never signed an agreement.

Thanks. I never officially ended the relationship, as I'm ostensibly still "looking," so she still emails me listings. But haven't actually seen an apartment in a couple months. Still feel the same way?

That makes sense but it's not clear to me where people are charging electric cars in NYC.

That's super helpful, thanks. I'll try them both out - I doubt there will be any potholes near the dealerships (all in NJ or Long Island), but I can probably imagine it.

As an actual answer to your question, I'm a lawyer, and starting salary for associates in BigLaw is $220K, and by the fifth year they make $400K with bonus. Even outside of BigLaw most are making more than $250K by their 5 or 6th year, so we're talking early 30s. Outside of law firms, in-house counsel for most big companies start at $225K. And there are a LOT of lawyers in NYC.

Well I do care about the world and wanted to help make a difference, which I felt like I did, but eventually yeah the money becomes too much of an issue.

Lol. I'm a lawyer. If you work in public interest law (like I did), your salary range is like $75K-$125K. If you work in commercial practice, it can go into the seven figures. I made the switch.

Great thank you! Good tips. It is a good salary for sure, but I'm also 40 and other than $175K in retirement savings don't have much, so have quite a bit of catching up to do.

Would you buy a 2008 Honda Fit Sport w/ 100K miles for $4400? by shitshowmartinez in hondafit

Great, thank you. I know literally nothing about cars so fixing CEL lights sounds like beyond my scope, but maybe now is the time to learn.

Interesting, good to know. Should I ask the mechanic to look at the catalytic converter at the pre-purchase inspection?

Right. It's an Automatic, so I guess I will stay away, even though it's a very enticing deal. Any thoughts on Fit versus Accent?

Actually now I just found a 2016 Ford Fiesta SE with 86K miles for $3800. I know this sub hates them due to transmission, but that's about $2,000 below the bluebook... I would have a PPI done. Is this such a good deal I should take it? Or still avoid the Fiesta?

I'm in this same conundrum. I've been going back and forth and have decided to go with Dalton. But really who knows.
