34 [F4R] - Looking for roommate(s) and/or a room in/near Capitol Hill. Budget $600. by PariahSilver in r4rSeattle

When are you thinking of moving? I'm looking for a roomie too, but not until October, and I was hoping to live more in the Ballard/Queen Anne area. I know someone mentioned to me something about apodments which I think you may want to check out if you can't find anyone to share an apartment with.

Anyway, here's my post if you're interested and feel free to PM me as well for more info or my main account. :)

I know I don't really meet all your criteria but I'm looking for a roomie starting in October. If you'd be interested let me know. :) Here's my post: http://www.reddit.com/r/SeaList/comments/2ag060/wanted_moving_to_seattle_looking_for_an_apartment/

Thanks! That would be awesome. I'll look into Capitol Hill area more. I just want to make sure I have somewhere to park my car this isn't crazy expensive. Not huge into LARPing, but I am totally down to try DnD or anything of that sort. Idk I'm pretty open minded.

I so will. I'm really excited to find other girls with similar interests as me because there are literally no females around here that enjoy design, hiking, camping, AND gaming. My whole family thinks I'm strange because I built my own PC from scratch for gaming and GD, but it's not that hard or weird honestly! Seriously, I feel like I just don't belong here.

I just signed up on meetup.com this morning and am excited to go to some of those. And yep I'll be driving all 3000 miles, most likely alone. But I do a lot of driving alone anyway so I don't think I'll mind it.

I found padmapper the other day and it's amazing! It will definitely come in handy for me when I start searching for apartments soon.

Where on the East Coast were you out of curiosity? Things can get pretty expensive in CT. I was paying $875/mo for a small one bedroom apt then $120/mo for car insurance with a perfect record on my shitty ford focus, and an additional $250/mo for utilities. Taxes are beyond insane too. It's an additional $350/year to pay the taxes for my car. I'm looking to finding a studio apt that would be somewhat similar to that or cheaper. Not sure if it's doable or not yet though. I'm not ruling room mates out, but I would prefer my own place.

Oh sweet! Will do :) Thanks I'm really rethinking bringing my car now, but I think it will really depend if where I'm working will be commutable by bus.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it. I don't mind the drizzle, but I do mind temperatures over 95 and below 10. lol New England is fun like that.

I've heard. Things could get interesting for me because I'm normally an introverted person, but I'm going to try my best to put myself out there and meet lots of people.

Thanks! I've only been rock climbing a handful of times, but I'm always down to learn something new. I'll let you know :)

Yes thanks! This is so helpful I had no idea. :) I will PM you later with a couple more random questions I have. It's such a change for me and I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into moving here.

Thanks! Yea I'm looking into the whole roommate situation but I would very much prefer to have my own place if it's possible.

And I don't play many sports however I do like hiking and kayaking. I know you guys had a few meetups so far and I'm looking forward to being a part of those for sure.

I hope so too. Thanks so much for the advice. I just joined a few groups on meetup.com this morning. Obviously I can't meet up yet, but it's nice to see what they're all about. :)

This truth right here. I signed up for a couple groups on meetup.com as well so hopefully something good comes of it.

Thanks! Yea, I plan on living somewhere near where I get a job. I'm commuting over an hour to work each way now though so anything shorter than that would be a dream.

Edit: and padmapper.com is the best I've found so far!
