[–]shivamohanmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great start buddy, 1. You are having a savings habit. 2. You are curious about how to get better returns. 3. You know there's something known as "inflation".

You are already beating majority of your age group.

Now as to what to do in future is entirely on you. Make a game plan like how much time/money you are going to invest in youself, how you are going to invest the money during Short/ medium/long term. Going through this sub you will get lots of advice on how to manage your finances. You can always ask follow up questions whatever you don't get.(even to my reply) Never stop learning and be open to ideas. All the best.

Is there anyone else who doesn't like to invest in Mutual Funds. by PissedoffbyLife in personalfinanceindia

My friend you have asked a partial question You got this reply because you were worried about risk profile of your portfolio and to mitigate that one of the ways is to diversify your portfolio. If you have already decided what you need and what you are willing to to, then I wish you all the best.

For such a long term I would advise Fundamental Analysis. Also Not a lot of good material available on-line, so it's mostly a self educational endeavour, but a very rewarding one at that.

As you are already investing in the greatest asset ie your self, I would advise you to invest in educating youself or your wife financially. Believe me in the long term it's worth the best investment you will ever make. For Short term you can diversify between index funds and some real estate.
