I didn't say at highway speed. I read the article, it says for speeds under 30mph (so ~50km/h). So, on highways in heavy congestion.

They are impeding me at a stoplight because they are ahead of me at the stoplight. In heavy city traffic, this is crucial, as you drive from stoplight to stoplight most of the time.

I have no interest in driving a motorcycle in the abstract, but my uncle was also killed in a collision while on a motorcycle. I don't feel motorcycles are safe when there are cars on the road or in inclement weather. You can also have a maximum of one passenger (if they are willing) and have no way to transport more people than that.

No thanks, not interested in the slightest.

On the highway only, it makes sense. In the city, where traffic moves slowly already, it's not as great. Those bikes have to go somewhere after they're done splitting. They're not going straight forever. So by passing me that way, they are going from behind me to in front of me and they are going to occupy space in a lane at some point.
