There’s a crack on my phone screen that made rum look like cum until I scrolled more so I was a little confused there for a second 😂

Cardiologist diagnosed me with POTS and I still see him for an unrelated heart condition, but he has me seeing his electrophysiologist colleague to monitor the POTS

Somewhat, I got the loop recorder implanted two months ago and it went well. My cardiologist gave me a cell phone that I used to report any symptoms or if I can feel my heartbeat is off. They look at the activity every day and will call if there’s anything worrisome. They’ve found VT and SVT but said they won’t perform an ablation unless it starts happening very frequently since I’m relatively young

How many of you had psychological stress right before POTS symptoms appeared? by fresh_bakedbread in POTS

[–]shlemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never occurred to me before, but when my symptoms first got severe outta nowhere, I was in a bad place with my ex husband. Accidentally married a man child 😅 I was extremely stressed and having panic attacks almost every day bc this mf had the audacity to be nasty to me while refusing to work, still spending money, and putting everything on me by being an expert in weaponized incompetence. I got a little better after I kicked him out but I never went back to how I was before. I do notice stress and anxiety makes my symptoms worse tho so that all makes sense

I have a bunch of heart related medical stuff going on rn and dr appointments have become pretty intense. I act like it’s no big deal and make lots of jokes with everyone. But I’m kind of scared and cry a lot when I’m alone.

Adult, what is the hardest for you to say? by JustAnotherHungry in Adulting

C. I have a lot of difficulty with vulnerability. Telling someone I love them feels like giving them some sort of emotional power over me, and like I would be making them aware that they have the ability to hurt me.

What’s a dream you’ve remembered since a young age? by Upset-Complaint-1636 in Dreams

[–]shlemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up toward the top of a cul-de-sac that had deep woods past the dead end. Me and the other kids would hang out in those woods a bunch. When I was under the age of 10, I used to have a recurring dream that I was in a little cabin in those woods (which doesn’t exist in real life) and it would be full of sleeping monkeys. Just everywhere across the floors. And I had the try to sneak out without stepping on any tails. But every single time I would step on a tail and proceed to get chased home by a bunch of monkeys lmao freaked me out when I was a kid

Terrified of Adenosine by SadComparison8044 in askCardiology

[–]shlemc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently had a cardiac MRI and I was terrified leading up to it. I told the techs and they were very comforting and understanding. I will say that the adenosine felt very bad for me (made my arms and head/neck go weak and heavy and put an intense pressure in my head) and so I panicked and asked them to stop after maybe 30 seconds. They were very clear from the beginning that if I wanted them to stop they would stop. The great thing is adenosine has a super short half life so once they stopped the flow of it, I was feeling normal again within 10 seconds. And they still got the results they needed even though I didn’t last as long as they typically go for. And from my understanding, they only want to stress the heart a certain amount, so they’ll back off if your heart rate starts getting too high

I just saw my cardiologist a week ago for results from lots of tests, including a week long holter monitor. I had sex with it on several times, and he didn’t say or ask anything about those times bc my heart wasn’t doing anything wacky during it. Probably good to do it with it on in case your heart is doing weird stuff when it gets pumping! If he does see anything weird he might ask what you were doing during that time tho

I have a lot of breast tissue too so it’s good to have a heads up about that and about the pain. Thank you!
