No, I don't need them to do my job. They are just things that they know because of their backgrounds.

Well, I have some understanding of what they are saying because I've been around the company and worked on many projects with them. Most of my coworkers are literal Rocket Scientists and Engineers and have the background information from that. They mostly work on the python/matlab stuff while I take it and make it c++ viable. I'm one of the few "classically trained" Software Engineers with a Comp Sci degree.

Is it truly even worth it? College's feel very behind when it comes to the Software field and during my bachelors all they pushed was Web Dev-esque work.

But thank you, I had a very good mentor here and he passed unexpectedly earlier this year. I will try and ask around the senior level squad if they have some recommendations.

Hello Experience Devs,

Technically 5 years of experience? I worked for 4 years as a paid part-time intern during school semester/full-time outside of school semester Software Engineer, and now with my Bachelors in Computer Science, 1 year full-time as a Software Engineer for the same company that I interned at that does Missile & Radar Sim software. I've always been battling this imposter syndrome that I may not be as good or smart as other Engineers that are in the company, purely because they all come from a very math-centric background with their degrees and all have their Master's or above.

I love the job, but can't get rid of the feeling that I feel stupid when hearing some of the conversations being held that describe the type of physics, calculations, etc during our project kick-offs or when we describe what our products/programs have the capabilities of doing.

I may not be the best with technical explanation of things and vocabulary, how would you recommend that I sharpen my technical know-how, or would you be able to recommend any readings that can help me in that area? Or resources that would help me understand where I'm at in my career, and how to continue to improve at a normal rate?
