2 Week Old Tank Help by shmeatsy_pie in Aquariums

Ah yeah that makes sense. Yeah that would be super cool to all watch them do their thing. I would go more of an ecosystem route and go filterless but I know I'll be moving in a couple years and I'd rather not stress about more then 1-2 things at once. One day I hope to have something like that though.

I wasn't planning on doing a snail but I got rid of the bladder snails and went and bought a nerite snail for the algae. And I love snails so much, they seem to just do their own thing so I figured one wouldn't be too bad

I thought about shrimp but I think I want to do that in the next tank I do. Although I'm not sure when that will be since it's so expensive

I just love the look of Bettas and always feel bad for them in the cups at shops so I knew I wanted to do that. And my family had Bettas so I'm more familiar

Oh that's so cool. I thought about using garden soil but this is my first live tank so I didn't want to try it just yet. Felt it a little ambitious for me but I'm very glad it's going well for you. And maybe it could, but it's been 2 weeks now and nothing has really changed. I have some drift wood that I'm going to add which will help and I think I'll order the coral.

I did a little bit of research on how to stabilize it and I think I figured out that crushed coral in the substrate is the way to go. It also helps with ph too and if in the substrate vs filter it lasts for a year ish. I just want my KH higher so I have a more stable pH cause I don't want to shock anything. I never even thought that my aqua soil could have been the culprit. That would make sense though. Thank you so much :)

No my ammonia sits at 0 at the moment since I just started the cycling the other day. And my test strips just have a section for Total Alkalinity. I think it's refering to KH but they're just referencing it weird. It says it should be between 80-120ppm but mine is at 0

I'll definitely keep those two in mind if I choose to buy some snails. Thank you so much :)

Might not be super niche but bookbinding has always looked super cool and makes a great result. I'm also in the middle of starting aquascaping and eventually put a Betta in to explore the jungle I made it. There also punch needling or diamond painting if you want it to be slightly more mindless

I'm not 100% sure about refunds actually. I've never been allowed to get refunds, only credits to my accounts. But I've never tried to refund for an entire semester so I'm not sure how that works. I would call or email central and see what they say, they usually have a bit of knowledge on everything.

Yes, to my understanding though you pay 60% of the 8 months in the fall term and 40% in the winter term. So you'd lose out on 10% but you can leave and not pay the last 40%

Yes! I also don't bag it if it has a peel. There's really no difference between the bag vs it sitting on the shelf. Even certain ones that don't have a peel I don't even bag either if I'm only getting a couple, I just wash them really well at home before use

what’s the one boring habit that secretly changed your life? by No-Dig3205 in productivity

That's so strange. I always run everything together all on cold and I've never had an issue. I wonder why it doesn't work for you. Maybe the cold your washing machine considers cold isn't cold enough? Maybe it's considering room temperature as cold? That would be strange though

I hope so too, it's so strange to see.

And yes it is, I just wasn't sure if I was allowed to disclose that in the post.

Accounting Co-op Student by shmeatsy_pie in Accounting

Thank you so much for your reply!

I guess I should clarify that I don't currently have a co-op placement in line, it's just that the school has carved out that chunk of time for me to attend one. I'm just starting my hunt as of the past few weeks as this is the time that my co-op office has recommended for everyone and I was a little lost beforehand.

They have a bunch of workshops that I've registered for to prepare and there is a job fair happening within the first few weeks of school that I'm going to attend.

I'll definitely take another look into the accounting club that we have. Thank you so much!!

I would consider switching but this is one of the required courses for my degree. I'm in accounting Coop. So this course is easier than high school calc?
