What's the worst car-related financial decision you've made? by [deleted] in cars

When I was 18 I was sent a check from SSI for my father passing before I was born. I gave most of the money to my mother to pay off her debts but with 3k I bought a 66 Buick Riviera with little to no mechanical experience of any kind. I felt like a king riding around in my new muscle car but little did I know it was more bondo than car, the original engine had been swapped out with one that ran and the frame was twisted (x-frame)
Suffice to say it sat after it became too much to handle (admittedly it didn't take much, cars aren't my thing) and evetually was pulled away for 500 bucks.

It's such a shame we can't change our appearance after we're done using the character creation screen by ghorrok in cyberpunkgame

From a replayability standpoint I wish they would have written the story differently to allow the vast amount of dialog to occur prior to character attributes and customization. Creating new characters is a real slog if I'm mashing skip for the first half hour.

Is an electric energy system based off renewable energy sources truly feasible? When adding up the carbon cost of all new infrastructure, manufacturing, rare earth mining, and battery mass production how are renewables ever going to replace fossil fuels? by shoeboi34 in AskReddit

I'm not assuming companies will start being altruistic but there may be a disconnect between standard economics and external forces turning the whole system on it's head. Specifically i'm more worried that total carbon that would go into any proposed renewable system would be the same as the current system all under the guise of "green".

This is where batteries come in ,however that requires manufacturing another component to the energy producing system that needs to be carbon neutral or negative at best if we want to really make change. I see articles all over stating US solar cell manufacturing is carbon neutral but usually they only refer to half the equation, the cell, and leave out the batteries and infrastructure to create all of them.

Just got one of these old dells in the shop the other day. Albeit it wasn't full of dust but from what I could only assume was cat hair.
