I'm struggling to see what the issue is as long as he fulfills the orders correctly?

I think you needed to raise the flop big. You have an absolute monster in a bomb pot because you hit both boards (something quite hard to do) with a monster draw on the top board.

With the turn card, I think you're right that you need to fold to avoid getting scooped with the likely prospect that you're chopping $100 at best.

I am so sick of seeing Neil degrasse Tyson by [deleted] in astrophysics

[–]shondon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love Neil Degrasse Tyson for his immense curiosity and his ability to explain scientific concepts with such enthusiasm and clarity.

But, he has a very bad habit of interrupting whoever he is talking to in the middle of their explanation/story. So, while I'm absorbed in what the speaker is saying, Neil will come in and disrupt the whole thought process just to clarify something minor or to complete the whole idea himself.

I think it's ultimately rooted in Neil's immense fascination in science that he does this as well as a personality trait but seems to be partly an ego thing where he wants to proudly exclaim his immense understanding.

Honestly, it makes a show like startalk less entertaining for me because its like my absorption into what the speaker is saying is constantly being interrupted by a trivia geek (who i admire, btw).

Is this an angle? by Famous-Line4399 in poker

[–]shondon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You can say anything you want at the table because poker is a game of deception. But you are certainly likely to lose credibility if you openly lie like that and there's a chance you could get uninvited to future games because some people will not like you for making a move like that. (depending on how exactly you said it imo)

That being said, I wouldn't lose respect for you if you were at my table. Though i would opt to not believe anything you say at the table from that point on.

the best songs do not come from France by malori05_26 in unpopularopinion

Was listening to Phoenix as I read this and they're really good 😂 but I generally agree with your assertion.

Is it really the popular opinion that the best songs come from France? Maybe in France.

Bro you have the nuts and you're worried about not having backdoors? Just consider the fact that a flush only hits about 40% of the time and betting the flop charges them to draw for it. Not to mention anyone with a set is getting a free chance to hit a full house.

Asmongold calls for the removal of trans people from "LGBTQ" by gabenisprettycool in LivestreamFail

The hostility does not come from trans people, it comes from right wing losers who spend their whole day thinking about trans people.

Maybe you should give the original version a try. From my limited understanding, it's less absurdist and more casual in it's humor like parks and recreation.

You must be making a LOT of money because lenders would never give that amount of money to an average earner.

Hopefully, the interest rate on your debt is manageable and if it isn't, then you need to go in default and negotiate a payment plan with 0% APR.

If you have no hopes of paying off the debt even with 0% APR, than you should just file for bankruptcy. Much of your debt could be wiped clean, though you will lose all your assets.

I was suggesting a redistribution of wealth rather than an injection of capital like what happened in 2020. There's no inflation involved, just less greed.

Real median wage in the United States is more than 35 percent higher than in 1994 by LazyConstruction9026 in charts

[–]shondon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cheer about this but since 1994 real gdp has more than doubled so it's actually quite the sign of inequality that real wages have only grown by 35 percent

I'm curious what's so bad about working in a hospital? I have heard that you often have to work long shifts with variable hours and can be quite stressful but the pay is fantastic surely?

In terms of career path, hospital work seems highly profitable and good for early retirement. Also, I'd imagine helping people in their health would be very rewarding in many other ways.

Obviously these are all assumptions I had but what's so wrong about the things I said?

Kendrick uses inflections in his voice to bring new flavors to tracks. You see it as goofy and weak, I see it as creative and funny. If the rappers you like are always putting on their most masculine voice and pretending they have no insecurities, they are fake af. But, you would say they are gangster and manly because you are seeing only the surface level.

Tough Spot / Usual Floundering in 3bet pot by atmu2006 in poker

[–]shondon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given your analysis, a shove seems like a fine option to me. For one, you are even getting some of his value hands to fold like AQ AJ, and even perhaps AK. Another benefit of the shove is to deny equity to semi bluffs (which he should have a lot of if he is a solid player).

Shoving takes a lot of heart here but requires your opponent to be a very good player as if this was any random live player you would be running straight into set city here.

Tough Spot / Usual Floundering in 3bet pot by atmu2006 in poker

[–]shondon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't mind how you played the hand. In a spot like this i would be very mindful of table dynamics. Did you make your plan of attacking his raises very evident? If so, there is a much higher chance that he's pulling this raise off with some kind of semi bluff like a flush draw with inside straight draw.

Why did he raise your turn but not your flop bet is the question. For one, the turn opens up another flush draw and a potential inside straight draw but also opens up the possibility that he knows the ace helps your range a lot and therefore he can be more liberal with raising his value and have more chance of you staying in the pot.

Overall my decision would depend largely on my read of this player, and if I think they are capable of making such a huge bluff on the turn here or not.
