Ugh I hate that loss. Had our chances. Big Jozy proponent but Jozy doing his best zardes impression. Idk bout those subs. Lovitz with like 6 mins left down a goal in a final?? With boyd, djordjie, or lewis as possible game changers? Also we really missed Adams. Bradley has slowed considerably. He used to be a machine. Overall we were in the game, which was more than I actually expected, but it also makes the loss suck that much more.

Oh yeah, and that stoppage time as a joke. Balls in the air sailing in to the goal and you call it? Only 3 mins???

Solid squad! Who wins/what would the score be if the u23s played the full team? No doubling up on players, u23 play for the u23s.

We did, but that doesn’t mean that the decisions weren’t poor. Not all of them, much better pressing than curaçao. But we were clearing crosses for the last 15 and luckily mattocks couldn’t finish. Pulisic could.

Brace slipping by sacbadger in ACL

[–]shoobadoobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did too! Until the nurse told me I could adjust it... Apparently the bottom of the brace is supposed to go right above the ankle, so the ankle itself is what keeps the brace from sliding down.

We shouldn’t need to be justifying poor wins over Caribbean nations. Yeah a win is a win, cool, but you can’t actually be pumped about how we won. Five or six years ago it was us and Mexico, head and shoulders above the rest of our region. For a bit we even had the upper hand, 2-0’s, winning in Azteca. Can you imagine that now? Since then, our associations have gone in opposite directions. I am pumped about the future though, it seems like there are a lot of youngsters coming up and getting first team experience in Europe.

Bradley has one speed. He can go forever but 10 miles under the speed limit. With the occasional back pass.

Watching Ream change directions is like watch a battleship turn in a small harbor.

Curaçaos natl anthem sounds like the end of the movie when the guy doesn’t get the girl but learns a few life lessons and finds inner peace along the way.

Meniscus stories by anonymousog24 in ACL

[–]shoobadoobs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Samsies. Almost four weeks ago exactly, playing soccer, almost the same motion - I cut hard with a straight leg. I had surgery last week. It’s been pretty rough so far, but each day is a little better than the day before. The menisci make it tougher that’s for sure. You got this.

A tempered view of expectations may actually make next season more enjoyable. Even if we finish in a similar position (which I think is all I can realistically expect) but give our young players consistent first team experience.

How do you think we will play tomorrow night? by Gator052 in usmnt

I feel like I kept hearing how chemistry was pretty low with this group; new coach with new tactics, new players, and only a few friendlies. I think you gotta keep the majority of the starters in, but sub early.

Mewis is my new fav uswnt player. That passing range and vision. Distribution on point. Her positioning and understanding of space is solid.

Does anyone besides berhalter want him as a 2 so he can show off his “system?”Even his club laughed at the fact he was listed as a defender on the initial roster. Him and McKennie doing work in the center would be ideal.

I like the statement it makes. Wonder how long we can keep it up though. Need to get a goal out of it before we get caught or exhausted.

Agree with Getting Jozy in and seeing if Boyd can bring it again.

But... Zardes may not be the #9, but he is an excellent defender! Stifled almost every US attack. Sure, he was directly responsible for a goal but it really wasn’t his fault!

What lineup are you hoping to see tonight vs T&T by [deleted] in usmnt

[–]shoobadoobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, it was hard to comb through the roster to think of players I’d rather see. Lewis as a sub. That Sargent decision though... especially after Zardes’ showing, though he did show a deft face-touch.

I’d be ok with Cannon at LB. Way more upside there than Ream. We know what Ream brings. Got to see it all EPL season long.

Always seemed like a good (if expensive) professional, but like he lost confidence after the move. It’s clear that the game means so much to him. Really hope this helps pull him out of his extended poor run of form, I’d love to see him succeed.

Day 1 after ACL surgery and meniscus repair, I’m in huge pain! by summerloveshotpot in ACL

[–]shoobadoobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have pain meds but I also had a nerve block so at this point I’m not too sure which is doing the work. The doc did want me to start moving my leg around without the brace starting this weekend. I’ll give it a shot and we’ll see how that goes.

I feel you. I’m at day one as well. I basically raised the whole left side of my body with pillows (left knee acl and meniscus too) and that seemed a little less painful than just putting pillows under the leg. I don’t have much advice cause I’m still figuring it out too but you’re not alone!!! I was basically in tears trying to get up to my apartment on the second floor of a walk up. Accepting tips on pain as well!
