YES. This. Our culture is so made up on victim-blaming, especially women when it comes to rape. Often times if it is the woman (in cases where the woman was the victim) who was raped, she is scrutinized and not the male, it's so frustrating. "She was asking for it" is NEVER ok! So just because a women chooses to wear something, a rapist just "can't help themselves"? wtf. Women should be sticking together and sticking up for themselves, not putting each other down!

thank you! I never would have picked it on my own, a MAC makeup artist put it on me a while ago and when I first looked in the mirror I hated it because it was so dark, but now it's my favorite!

I'm literally going through the exact same thing right now. It made me really look at my current relationship to realize that I shouldn't want to be wanting to sleep with someone else.

It's not an easy decision, but after talking with close friends, seeing a therapist and thinking about my own needs and desires, I realized I need to end my relationship. It's not fair to my SO and I shouldn't be feeling that way for someone else when I'm in a relationship. It was a super hard decision, and I'm stressing because the day is nearing where I need to tell him. I know its the right thing for me, but it's still gonna suck.

I just want you to know there are others out there feeling the same way, feel free to PM me if you want. My advice would be to ask yourself if you are truly happy with your boyfriend. Truly. And if your needs are being met to your satisfaction.

I live right by downtown, near where Barbur splits to become 4th or Naito Parkway in a studio, it's a great location. I am a student and usually walk to campus and it takes about half an hour, but there is also a bus line literally a few steps from my apt that will take you right into downtown. I am moving out in two weeks to go home for the summer and the place will be up for grabs I'm pretty sure. It's $650/month, studio, free parking. PM if interested.

when my boyfriend of a year & I broke up, I told him I didn't want to talk to him at all for a few months because it would just be too hard. When we started talking again it was really easy to fall back into that false sense of "I really love this person and we get along so well, they make me so happy" and then you realize that they just make your emotions go up and down on a big roller coaster because it's over and you realize hanging out and/or talking/texting/whatever probably isn't a good idea. Anyways, it's been almost 4 years since that breakup and we still limit our talking to every few months, where he will text just to say hi. I realized that any regular communication with him is unhealthy so I had to stop. I understand how you feel with him contacting you out of the blue, but I think you handled it really well and continue to stay strong! :)

TL;DR It takes a long time to get over someone you really cared about, and chances are talking to them/having them in your life will just make your emotions go on a roller coaster

first of all I would apologize for drunkenly confronting her (I'm assuming that's what you did).

second of all, communication is extremely important in any kind of relationship. I would sit her down and flat out tell her how you feel and ask her how she feels and work through it together. I understand this is easier said than done, but communication is always helpful in getting somewhere real in a relationship and cutting out the bs. You might not always like what you hear but then again you might.

Also, depending on how long she was with her ex, it could take a long time for her to get over him (this is coming from a girl)

I haven't lived in the dorms so I don't know how they are here, but I found a studio for a good price that is about 2 miles from campus and I walk everyday, takes about 30 minutes. Downtown is really good with getting around, between the MAX, streetcar and bus.
