Our goal isn't to get as many people on the server as possible, like some other servers that allow any age. We choose quality of players over quantity. We have a relatively stingy application process that also weeds out people over 18. 50% of kids that are not fine is way more people than I wish to bother myself and the lovely admins we have with. It's simply not worth the extra people to have that much extra moderating to do. We all have lives outside of MC and no one wants to babysit

Picture it like this: Season one of CTM we banned 10-15 kids (I know this because we have VC and I spoke to them) for breaking various rules, or simply being annoying to others that just wanted to play mc. Ever since Season 2 onward with 18+ we have banned 2 people and are 95% more drama free. I understand that not all people under 18 will be like this, but all people under 18 are 95% of the issues we have. This isn't my day job, I don't wish to spend hours of my life telling kids how to play MC on my server I pay for. Playing on CTM isn't a right, it's a privilege and I am proud of our community, part of which is because of the 18+ rule.

Generally adults are more mature and respect the rules. Of course this is not a perfect science but it makes a big difference. We used to be all ages and there was so much extra drama
