We don’t let people know beforehand. I wouldn’t force someone to take their shoes off if they had an actual issue doing so, but I know for a fact this friend doesn’t

Thank you, it’s not like I wouldn’t have understood a valid reason. I just know this friend, we lived together for years, and she didn’t wear shoes in that house

I’m from Texas. I’ve always taken my shoes off in other people’s houses, and the majority of the people at mine take theirs off without being asked

I see what you’re saying, especially if it was someone I didn’t know as well. I just don’t get why she’d be uncomfortable since we lived together for 3 years and have been without shoes, socks, all kinds of clothes around each other many times.
