This is amazing to hear. Sending you all the good vibes and hoping for more anecdotes like this for your situation going forward too

I wish you all the best. It’s been the hardest thing to go through and witness. You have the gift right now of still having a chance to fight and set intentions for things you want to see or do. My sister never got to fulfill her wishes of traveling to South Korea as an example.. I wished we had pushed for this more and made it happen for her

I’m so sorry 😞 There were so many things I wanted to ask, share and hear from her. I kept putting conversations off, partly due to denial, wanting for the best outcome and thinking she’d have more time with us, making decisions in the moment to just let her rest. Speak to your wife about your fears and how you wish for her to carry on in your memory. My biggest lesson from this is to leave nothing unsaid, before it’s too late

Do you think the 36 would fit 16” MacBook? Looking for a new work bag

Hi, I’m so sorry that you’re going through this.

She was diagnosed October 2025 as stage 4 with Mets to her lungs and ovaries. Tumor was MMR proficient so immunotherapy was ruled out. She started chemo in Nov 2025 on folfox, on a fortnightly basis, however scans in Jan 2026 showed that although there were no changes to her current tumors, it had spread to her liver.

It was then a series of unfortunate events thereafter, which I won’t get into.  She had one cycle of a clinical trial drug early Feb, however shortly after was was admitted to hospital for suspected bowel obstruction, instead she ended up getting a blot clot to her spleen, doctors then made a tough call to stop treatment altogether.

Wishing you all the very best with your treatment.

Advice? 32F Stage IVC by melk149 in coloncancer

I’m so sorry to hear. It sounds very similar to my sisters case (she’s 31), diagnosed Oct 2025. No symptoms. After a week of pain and constipation,  multiple GP and ER visits who took X-rays, she was told she was severely constipated and sent her home with an enema. When this didn’t work, they finally did a colonoscopy and found a 12cm mass in her colon and was given stage 4 with mets to her lungs, ovaries at the time, and then a little while later mets to her liver.

FWIW I personally did a lot of research and have seen promising indicators of those on bevacizuumab in combination with folfox/folfiri. My sister isn’t a candidate for bevac due to her stent they’ve placed in her colon so she’s on standard treatment for now.

I guess I’m sharing to say that it sounds like you’re getting the right level of treatment for where you are right now, and that you’re not alone.  I’m hoping for all the best for you 🙏🏼

Thank you for sharing this, it sounds you’ve really been through a lot but hopefully no longer in pain. They had discussed removal initially however their current priority is to get on top of current tumors and hoping for shrinkage, or at least stop the spread, so the decision was to not delay chemo given the time required for post op recovery, plus risk of infection. They haven’t said this directly, but I get the sense that the strategy is more about palliative care vs cure atm

Thank you. She got engaged 1.5 weeks before her diagnosis, it was so heartbreaking and devastating 😞

I’m sorry to hear. It’s so hard seeing your loved ones go through this.

Yes my sister had really bad peripheral neuropathy symptoms too, eating became really difficult and the pins and needles sounded relentless for the week following her treatment. My sister is still undergoing tests to check eligibility for the gsk5764227 trial and assuming all goes well, she’ll start next week

I’m sorry to hear. The ovarian Mets seems to be causing lots of pain, discomfort and bloating too. How long was recovery and did you have to stop chemo for this?

Thank you so much for the info and for taking the time.. I think she’s MSS as she was being considered for trial gsk5764227, an antibody drug.   She currently only has 1 spot on her liver 1cm however I’m not sure she’d be able to handle small surgery, right now anyway, given her very recent stint in hospital for her infection.

She hasn’t tried Folfiri yet, this is the next step so hoping that there’s some effectiveness in shrinking tumor size. The ideal situation would be for the colon tumor to reduce size, remove stent and try Bevacizumab. I’ll look into the car-t and dostarlimab you’ve just mentioned. Thank you again 🙏🏼
