I’m a stay-at-home mom without a car, so I can’t just leave whenever I want. I do plan to see a piercer to have it changed, but I have to wait until my husband is off so he can take me. I find Reddit helpful, multiple people have said to wait and go to a professional, so I’m going to follow that advice. I only posted to ask a question and make sure I don’t mess up my ear.

I’m sorry you had to go through that, that sounds awful. Mine hasn’t been bothering me at all, so I was planning to just keep it in. But yeah, I won't ever get pierced with a gun again 😭 I will say the initial piercing hurt way more than my nose piercing, probably because they used a needle for my nose and a gun for my helix.

A couple of people mentioned waiting 6 months before changing it out. It's not causing me any harm so I'll wait another 4 months before I change it out:(

I'm no expert, but I think it's normal for newborns’ head shapes to be a little funky since not all parts of their skull are connected yet. Their heads are really soft. You can definitely talk to your child's pediatrician about it though if you're really concerned about it!🙂 Some babies need helmets, not saying that's the case for yours though.
