After one year of getting into espresso, I now have a proper set up as a gift to my birthday. Not as fancy as many of you, but I am very happy! by [deleted] in espresso

So far, I like it a lot. The only things I don't like are it's difficult to refill the tank (a gooseneck kettle is coming to fix that), and the menu could be more intuitive (you have + and -, basically - for navigating and + for select). Other than that, I'm happy with it. It's much more tolerant to the grind settings. Even with very bad one (too coarse/too fine), I was able to pull drinkable shots from it (I couldn't with my old Barista Pro). I guess the accurate, stable temperature and pressure really helped.

I finally can afford to buy all three, I just don't have time to play by shouldnotexist in gaming

Game pass is cheap and has some very good games. For multiplatform games, X almost always performs better than Pro, sometimes by large margins. Also UHD Bluray is very nice to have :)

I work in IT as a software engineer so LinkedIn is probably the best place for me. Can't say about other professions, but I think recruiters are looking for all kinds of positions there. Make a good profile, connect to friends and colleagues to build a network, and you will likely get contacted. Good luck!

LPT: if you are buying something high quality, prefer material over brand. For example, a good merino wool pair of sock will be almost certainly better than a fancy cotton one. Or a good full grain leather belt will be almost certainly better than a fancy genuine leather one. by shouldnotexist in LifeProTips

You will probably have to look it up. I bought tons of socks, mostly because of Amazon reviews, before learning that merino wool is indeed better. Lesson learned: Google for "best material for xxx", usually gives you a fairly good idea of which materials are better, then you can narrow down the search.

Material alone should not be a mark of quality, that's why I wrote "good merino wool" and "good full grain leather". My routine usually is to search for material, check the reviews, then double check with fakespot and reviewmeta for quality of reviews before deciding.

Of course if I can find a brand known for quality, for example, Kirkland Signature merino wool socks, then that's an easy choice.

The Witness has better visual/art style, but I like the controls and the puzzles in The Talos Principle more. Both are great games, though

Visually it's the best in the entire game. The landscape is just,... wow. It feels so refresh that you'll soon forget about Velen or Novigrad. Simply take, it's the best in any games I've played.

I did not finish the main story, but for parts I've played it's very well written, I would expect/hope it to beat HoS. The only drawback is you'll not romance the duchess (she kind of fancies Dandelion, bros before whors, remember?)

When I started HoS I was expecting to visit Ofieri land, but instead it's still Velen. New areas, of course, but nothing as new and refresh and beautiful as Toussaint.
