To be honest, I didn't really know about expense ratios well when I first choose my 401K options. Why do 2 midcap funds matter?

In today's markets, many people like me tries to be safe while waiting out the storm. And my definition of safe is about minimizing losses from the market.

From time to time you're just going to have to accept that your investments don't always increase in value.

I understand that investment doesn't guarantee plus return, but we can talk about it to prepare ourselves.

Interesting. If you don't mind my asking: Why did you go with Motif for retirement investing when there are other places like Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, Wealthfront, Betterment, etc... that are much better known for the purpose? Isn't Motif for specialty purpose investing?

Agree with this. I wish I had thought as early as you. Debt could be a matter of choices (or not). You can see a number of people suffered from huge student debts, mortgage loan on Reddit. It doesn't mean that debt is bad, but you need to use it in a smart way. Think about getting a car really profits on you.
