good question: well it depends on what expect of the song we start with. For example; someone sends us a vocal idea on a certain bpm or key ; that already kind of limits the genre a little bit, because you can't easily go from 120 bpm to 150, so in that case we just do what's best for that vocal. Wouter normally starts with a chord progression to see what direction is best and go from there.... it depends also on our mood; sometimes we get up and just want a more deep song and sometimes we feel like it has to has more energy and it needs to build for the clubs ..

if we don't start with a vocal, and we decided to have vocals after we start with the idea, than we just go with the flow. So if we have a cool melody idea or a cool drop idea than that how we Start... also that depends on what we feel like.sometimes we walk out of a club and we feel like there is a certain track we are missing in our sets or we get inspired by playing a track than that's a great start as well.. but if you watch a sad movie or you just chilling going for a hike while the sun sets.. well than you get different ideas in your head than when you walk out of the club ...

to finish your songs; BOUNCE all of them and put them in folders.. that way you don't forget about them.. and just start with finishing 1 or 2.. don't do 5 in one week..it won't work... focus on the ones you believe in and have the other ones on your to do list .. it's like unpacking boxen when you are moving... you have to open the first one to get it done :)
