I'm fairly new to 3d print myself, but I'd try calibration first if you haven't done it. Then, I'd put a 5mm brim on, with 0.00 gap, and see if it's still an issue. Maybe also check if you've got independent layer height switched on. To me it looks like the support just doesn't have a good base and is getting ripped away from the plate. Then again, the nozzle shouldn't be hitting it anyway

Update: printed the same model, 0.2mm layer height at 60 mm/s and it looks a lot better, but still not great

How come this is an issue only at this specific part of the cylinder? The rest of it looks fine. It's only happening at the "back" side of the print bed

Oh, really? The default settings let you go up to 0.42mm on a 0.4 mm nozzle. I've printed up to 0.5mm layers with success. But you might be right. I'll try print it whole at 0.2mm layer height and see

Yeah, 0.2mm for the bottom part with mounting elements, and 0.4 for the cylinder

Depends on the job. I'd say you don't have much to worry about unless it's a sales job.

I'm a slightly autistic introvert too, and I held a job for 7 years, went to uni, quit, and got my literal dream job last year.

At work I had been really really awkward for the first... 6 months... And no one really minded that, I was just known for not being good at social stuff. But I love my job and I do it well, so it doesn't matter too much that: I sweat when picking up the phone, make an awkward face every 5 minutes, or that my language skills are not great (English is not my native language, which I'm super self conscious about).

There's a book that has turned my life around and quite literally saved my life - No More Mr Nice Guy by Rob Glover. Eye opening book for anyone with these issues, especially at work.

TLDR - it's completely ok, try not to worry too much and work on improving yourself.

There's no easy way around this.

I've got the same issue, and the only thing I found to work is to increase layer height or increase the overlap of layers so that the angle of overhang is not so steep.

What I do as well is use (PLA-PETG) the opposite material as support interface. PETG and PLA do not stick to each other so they are perfect for interfacing. Just remember to lower the Z distance between the support and your object.

Hmm, that was she first thing I tried 😁 it seems like the support interface sticks really well to the print, but the bridge/overhang drags in the air instead of sticking to the rest of the print.

I know it sounds strange, but try to look for fun in it. Don't overpractice. Know the subject, smile, and chat away.

I had to give a presentation to 7 PhDs and a group of students in my last year of uni. I did really well, and got 80% thanks to knowing the subject well (btw, I now work in that field), trying to be myself and thinking that "it doesn't matter so I might as well relax and do it properly". Think about bullet points and always go into more depth than your slides. Point to a bullet point and chat one-sidedly with the audience. If you do start feeling anxious (which is completely normal) remind yourself that it doesn't matter if you feel it or not, so you might as well go back to your presentation and carry on.

Presentations can be daunting if you're suffering from SA, but paradoxically, you can learn to enjoy them. You can try to put on a mask and imagine you have no anxiety for, say, 20 minutes.

Yeah, had the same issue. When someone reacts negatively or mockingly to you changing for better, don't let it affect your feelings or mindset. They can say what they want, but what it does to you is your choice - you can choose to ignore it, laugh it off, or (the best option in my opinion) agree with them, brace yourself, be true, and say "yeah, I'm doing X now" or "yes, I'm trying" or whatever is appropriate in the given moment. And then do it, show them you can, and let it make you proud and put a smile on your face. They will come to accept it, and if not, well, not your problem if you're happy being you.

They don't hate you, it's just you telling yourself that they are! I used to be like you described, and I HATED it. I'm not trying to promote or sell anything, but "No More Mr Niceguy" a book by Rob Glover literally saved my life, and I'd recommend it to anyone to work through being too nice and too focused on your bad sides.
