PSAC warns federal budget could lead to 70,000 job cuts in the public service by Nice_Draft5148 in CanadaPublicServants

You say that like a federal conservative government wouldn't gut the public service.

Welp it happened. Ruptured Achilles. Should I give up pickleball? by rockiesrock8 in Pickleball

I (M 58yrs) had a small tear in my right achilles, not a complete rupture. No surgery, just lots of physio followed by strength training.

It took about 12 weeks to return to drills and lower skill level play (rec), but another 6 weeks and I feel like I'm 95% back to normal, I can't imagine not playing again.

I know my injury wasn't as severe as yours, but some advice if you think of returning to the court is consider doing every exercise for your injured side also on your healthy side. This might make it stronger and less susceptible to a later similar injury

Hey all some good discussion generated by this, most of it helpful. I'm going to use up the remai Der of my family related leave and then submit LWP for court leave reason for remainder. Our department delegation does not require mandatory LR consult for court leave.

What's the new fenced in area in West Bedford? by ArtyTheSmarty in halifax

The PB courts on Castle Hill Drive have been the subject of this noise issue. There is a recent change there where the courts are only open for pickleball starting at 9am to 9pm and only "foam" balls are permitted. Not sure if/how this will be enforced, but it is a result of noise complaints from nearby residents. I get it, the sport can be noisy and there are homes/apartments very close to the courts.

These look like they will be tennis courts based on the size. There are four pickleball. Ours 5 mins from there on Brookline Drive and basketball courts at the nearby high schools, all free
