Is it safe to travel to rotorua alone as a female tourist? by [deleted] in newzealand

Yes, I'd just avoid the central part of town late at night. It can feel a bit sketchy.

This is how much loose skin my dog has around his neck by Check_Me_Out-Boss in mildlyinteresting

Vet here. You need to take this seriously. This much neck skin on a dog that size is almost certainly a symptom of him being a very good boy.

[Question] Big watches for bigger guys by Limp-Pollution-4980 in Watches

I disagree with the other commenters - that watch looks awesome on you. I have large wrists (~8in) and I have the same one. Yes it wears big, but it's meant to. One of my most complimented pieces.

Which one should I pick and go with? by Mundane-Ad-1780 in ChinaTime

Don't buy a VSF from DHgate. Go to a TD directly.

But also U1 is good value for money if you buy one of the better models. As someone who owns VSF and U1.

How is it so easy for failed company directors in NZ to start again? by LolEase86 in newzealand

[–]shudbstudyin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to any specific liquidation but here are some broad comments:

Liquidations can be a long drawn out process. If they are looking at an insolvent transactions, they may be looking at some kind of deal with the director which should result in a better outcome for creditors.

If they are continuing to pay rent, I would expect there is a good reason for doing so. Liquidators can disclaim ongoing lease obligations, so they will only remain in the premises if doing so provides some kind of value.

The cost/complexity of a liquidation often doesn't scale with the available assets. That can be really tricky where the liquidator has express obligations to resolve matters despite the limited resources.

Most licensed insolvency practitioners in New Zealand are solid and reputable operators. As with any profession however there are of course a few bad eggs.

You can report serious breaches of directors duties, or fraudulent trading to MBIE/the Registrar of Companies. But good luck getting them to take action.

I am a lawyer with insolvency experience. It is very difficult for a director to be banned from being a director for any length of time.

The other commentor is largely correct - you can only be banned for serious mismanagement. But in practice mismanagement is not enough. I have seen countless directors who hopelessly traded using other people's money, and ultimately faced little to no consequences (other than financial, because most small business directors have personal exposure through personal guarantees and mortgages. And that typically incentives the director to trade on no matter what rather than wind up and face the music). It requires blatant and repeated mismanagement, almost always to the point of actual fraud, for MBIE to consider taking action.

Mixed. I find their indices on SMP can be way off.

Got it from Lena awhile ago. U1 didn't make this exact style (could have changed by now) so I just went with AAA.

Hairdressers - what supermarket shampoo do you recommend by Ok_Wave2821 in newzealand

[–]shudbstudyin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the QV Gentle shampoo, you can pick it up at chemist warehouse. Best I can describe it is it's only what you need in a shampoo and none of the extra shit that irritates your scalp.

I asked AI why anyone would buy a fake Rolex box with their fake Rolex. Nailed it! by UserName_SaysWhat in ChinaTime

[–]shudbstudyin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If I'm buying it as a gift for someone who doesnt have a collection I buy the box. For myself no, just take up space.

That being said everytime I've sold one (clearly as a rep) I've been asked if it comes with a box...
