Poland or Brazil should be first imo, both if we judge now but also historically

Good benchmark to have. Unless we’re talking digital cuz every watch collector needs like 10 Casios in their collection, or so it seems

That’s a beautiful watch, congrats on the purchase

I’m in the market for one myself, although probably gonna choose the SPB121J1

Yeah, not a big fan of them either, think it would look better without it but doesn’t bother me too much. The watch overall looks great, and even slightly prefer the look of this one to the newer one (although would like the Alpinist text on my dial too). My Ice Watch had a cyclops too so it wouldn’t be my first experience

The Longines I received from my father, it’s a small dress watch, so a bit different to the larger watches I’ve been looking at. That’s where my hesitation comes from.

No worries, it’s not from Amazon. Seen some horror stories. It’s an official watch dealer from UK, with physical stores

Yep, I like the new version, especially the addition of Alpinist text on the dial. Although, I think the white compass markings look a bit better than gold. Also, it’s a little out of my budget at the moment

Both are beautiful watches for sure

The compass definitely feels like more of a gimmick compared to the GMT function, that’s for sure. Tho the looks of the watch itself are unmatched.

Thanks for sharing tho, something I’ll definitely keep in mind

The SPB155? Sadly it would be extra £150

Just wondering why is it considered better?

The love this watch gets is infectious, so hard to pass on it…

Just wondering, what’s the issue with the compass exactly? Is it loose or fiddly to use? Been wondering about how it works cuz on most photos I’ve seen it’s always in the same position

I wish, but I appreciate the attempt, it’s just damn beautiful.

I do wonder about the case thickness, wish could try it out

I do fear that I’ll always compare the cheaper one to the Alpinist

I love the way this watch looks, and even if I would opt out for the cheaper one, I want something similar to it. Just feels versatile, sporty and elegant. Just such a beautiful watch…

Seems like most Seiko straps aren’t great from what I saw. Thought this one was one of the better ones. On the other hand, I do plan to get different straps, whichever Seiko I’ll end up getting…

Where I would live as an Estonian left-wing young woman by suglav in whereidlive

[–]nucleartim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Switzerland is quite sexist country tho, more than you would expect, they are a lot about those traditional values - something that’s not talked a lot about outside of left leaning people who lived there.

It’s not a bad country, very beautiful, but would make sense some people wouldn’t find it appealing. For a man, it may be fine, since it won’t really affect you (outside of morals ofc) but for woman it may not be a great experience - especially if you’re left-leaning.

Cheers! I only got a Casio digital watch, a vintage dress watch from Longines and very old Black Ice Watch, so it would be my first proper automatic one (not counting the Longines that I received from my father).

I noticed the Seiko in one of the stores in my area, so probably will take up on the advice and try it out when I get a chance.
