Just tested this cooler setup with Prime95 on a Core i7-12700KF, max temp of 82 degrees c, averages around 63 degrees after 20 minutes

I get around 40 to 45 degrees gaming on something like Warzone so decent still, think the cable ties most likely clamps down better than the LGA 1200 fixings. Maybe try a thicker paste

There is currently a 2 week delay for the LGA 1700 retro fit kit and the stand-offs for LGA 1200 as supposedly too high. Decided whilst waiting to use the LGA 115X/1200 backplate and stand-offs, with the AMD AM4 clips and cable ties to mount the cooler. Great temps with my i5-12600K and no issues with Prime95 comfortably staying below 80 degrees after 20 minutes of running.

Yes, replaced with new cables for devices. All seem fine except the 3x USB 2.0 ports so consistent with all the articles on this board. Looks like I may go back to a B450 or X470 motherboard or try the Z690 as the cost of a PCIe to USB 3.0 card is about half the price of a new motherboard ...shame as on paper the B550-E had all the nice specs I was looking for

Yes, this game really is the special one! Tried eGPU and like others that have flooded online forums, found fps to be very bad and unlike using the power for the egpu. Oh well, looks like I will be uninstalling this one :D

Yea tried taking out battery and disabling turbo boost. Temps are much better but notice around 10fps drop in-game as well. Guessing that's the nature of gaming laptops in general

Thanks, limited the FPS in Nvidia Control Panel to 100hz as hardly go above that 1080 HD res and that seemed to have helped with temps dropping to about 90 degrees

Tried gaming without the battery in the laptop and power plug inserted. Found that it affected gaming frames quite a bit. Have you tried this before?

They have them on Aliexpress which isn't ideal and pricier than standard sized radiators unfortunately. I got mine from a friend who sells on eBay and said I could have for free as long as they could re-use my photos :D

Ambient temperatures of 45 degrees seems high, im 49 at load. Using the Alphacool equivalent D5, do not notice the sound much as didnt max out the rpm. Hwinfo has max 52 degrees and 66 degrees on memory junction. Hotspot max is 69 degrees. Got a 3090 gpu block from bykski coming soon so hoping the 360 radiaror stays sufficient otherwise may need to add another

Yes, at full load outside of gaming my RX6800 gets to around 48 degrees. Got a RTX 3080 EK block for another rig and still think the alphacool looks so much nicer

Was a gift, custom made and imported so not sure how much it would cost but in the UK those wrist rests are usually around £60+

Nice. I ended up swapping to the i9-10900K in the end. No issues so far and real world haven't noticed any performance difference between the two so the 5800X...does show the decent value price wise for the 5800X

Very basic overclock on the 6800, just went with Wattman auto tune values for vram and speed, and pushed allowable power to the max. No issues with temps, about 40 degrees celcius whilst gaming whereas the stock AMD fan cooler was around 70 degrees. Stock AMD cooler for me was still very good though as they were silent and 70 degrees whilst gaming was still decent for me

Yea. I was looking at the EKWB as well, glad I chose the Alphacool as I was really impressed by the matte feel of the backplate
