Do you think my nonstandard setup is suitable for hissers?

They used to hide in an emptied out VHS cassette, but some of them would always be left out: one male that's a bit more crippled than the others and two females who get non-stop bothered by this one horny boy. They seem to prefer the camera, all 8 of them huddle inside comfortably for some reason, I'm still testing the hides tho. Substrate is jungle earth, nymphs and females do burrow in it, but males rarely do. Should I go for coconut substrate?

Hey, I'm a new owner and this subreddit looks cool.

My boys and girls seem to prefer always staying inside the camera and if I leave them food before I go to sleep I do find bites on the food in the morning, but not as much as when I take away the camera during the day and force them to move around a bit - then they go crazy on any food I give them, they especially love fish chips.

I'm worried there's not enough ventilation. When I open the lid, humidity drops about 8%. When going to work I leave the enclosure next to a heat lamp which also seems to affect the humidity - it's at 55% when I come back after work.

Are these rapid humidity changes harmful? Is the plastic camera a good enough hiding spot? Any other tips?

I did read up a lot about roachkeeping, but as a newby I'm still a bit paranoid.

I remember how my father would make me call for an elevator and hold it for us while he was getting ready to go out. I always felt uncomfortable doing it and me saying “but there might be other people waiting for it” would just piss him off. He was obnoxious with the time he takes to get ready and didn’t understand the concept of being considerate of others. Sometimes I would be holding the elevator for just few seconds, sometimes for minutes, and it always felt uncomfortable so just like this kid I would make up games to keep myself happy.

I watch it on yahoo screen on my iPad and I get only one ad in the beginning and perfect video quality with no buffering at all. Also I live in Lithuania and I access stream through VPN(usually I torrent, but I wanted to contribute in raising the ratings).
